I hadn't noticed that the Anteaters were in the NIT this year. The game they played in Norman almost exactly 35 years ago was epic, though not necessarily a game of great execution.

One thing I'll always remember about it was seeing OU get down by 17, come back to lead by 10 with a little over a minute to play, then almost blowing the lead before winning by three. That was a wild ride, and also consider that there was no shot clock or three-point shot in college hoops back then.

But, with the win, it really set us up for a great run in the next several years. :billy

I was there that night and a few nights later when we beat Dayton. I remember Calvin Pierce had some thunderous dunks off rebounds. That was an awesome game.

I was at both NIT games. The LNC was rocking as it was a pretty big deal at the time. I still have the NIT apple sticker they were handing out at the door.

It was that game that really got me into OU basketball. I had attended the Bedlam game as well as the first round of the Big 8 tournament (at that time at home sites) that year, then went to the NIT game.

We sat low, possibly in GA tickets. Kevin Magee for UC-Irvine lived up to his billing early. Then during the OU second half run, Chucky Barnett had an insane double clutch reverse dunk right in front of us that brought the house down. Still one of the most memorable plays and games for me.

The entire student section was GA because it was spring break. So, we sat in the student section. I was 11 and went with my dad and a friend from school.

I was there. In utero, but I was there.

Wow, I had that schedule in my wallet forever. I think that is Magee watching the jam.

Thanks for confirmation of the GA as well.
