I'm not talking about attendance; people will come with time and wins. No, I'm talking about:
More spiky-hair guy yelling at us to "Not sit down til the Sooners score!" (encouraging the whole arena--students included--to sit down soon) and being a general annoyance. Even the Thunder, in the "extreme announcer"-happy NBA, only have their secondary announcer do the timeout games, and I barely notice him, which is how it should be.
More obnoxious, lame timeout "entertainment" (handshake cam? what?) I know they have to get their advertising in, but it's painful. Again, borrow from the Thunder here: people like seeing shooting contests, not "guessing" a movie line from a Will Ferrell movie that everyone's seen. I hate to keep bringing up the Thunder, but somehow, they manage to be more entertaining AND classier from an entertainment standpoint.
More CSC staff than ever. Guys/gals, I PROMISE no one's going to rush the court. There's not even a crowd to "control" yet. Settle down. There's no need for 4 at each first/second level stairway, three in the student section, and more scattered about. I find their staring and fluorescent yellow shirts distracting and detrimental to the overall experience.
More canned music cutting off the band mid-song coming out of timeouts, which is especially egregious when it's Boomer Sooner or Oklahoma.
I gripe because I love. Once we're good again, people will come, but for now, the LNC's atmosphere needs to not annoy those who do come.
