Ut @ ou

Great win, until the buzzer I swear I thought we were gonna lose. Hook played great and several second liners stepped up tonight. Still don't know if we will make the tourney but hope so.

I'm sure the OKC organizers are hoping OU wins out and get's the fans excited as the tourney is in OKC this year. Hope we keep winning and OSU does well so that they can draw well.

Nice effort by all, but Morgan Hook was special tonight.

Gioya Carter is becoming one of my favorite Sooners. She is tough, smart, defends, and scores. Can't wait to see how much she improves by next season.

This was also Portia's best game as a Sooner. She wasn't afraid of the Texas bigs, and she could score against them. She may have earned a bit more time down the stretch tonight.

Nice to see Durrett and Kellogg get minutes tonight. That could had be handy, especially if Kay Kay is down.
Mo played long minutes tonight, did she ever come out?

I wish Sharane was 6'2 or even 6'1 I love her fight. Morgan gets the game ball might be her best game as a sooner. Cater she just keep getting better she might be our best play maker on the team and she did not foul out INO is a win. T'Ona play like a freshman but I still love that kid. Kaylon and Nicole did play very good but they did get beat the hell up by McGee-Stafford. Portia did a great job against McGee-Stafford and Nneka that play when she went at McGee-Stafford and Nneke IMO change the game and spark our run.

Great job in the second half on the boards... we wound up losing the rebound battle 44-37, but at one time in the first half we trailed 23-12.

At one time, we trailed 9-1. We weren't even looking to rebound. The turnovers were interesting. We seemed to have a bunch early. Then, we settled down. I only remember one in the second half, on a pass out front by Morgan that didn't get three feet from her hands. She just wasn't paying attention.

Morgan definitley had one of her best games on a night we needed her the most

Wasn't it in the second half that Edwards(?) was out front and turned to hand it to Morgan and the texas girl grabbed the ball on a fast break??? Might have been first half...but I thought wtf!

The Yo-Yo is certainly continuing.

I thought this was just an excellent effort by all the girls tonight. I give credit to Sherri and the staff for playing Kellog (who did well) and Portia (very happy for her).

Kornet is really coming on. She's starting to get into a flow.

Yeah, I didn't like the free throw misses. Rebounding in the first half was pathetic, but improved greatly in the 2nd half.

The only thing I really don't understand is why, with Portia playing so well, scoring and rebounding and really taking it to the Texas bigs, that Sherri didn't put her in and play her during the last 4 minutes or so.

As good as Campbell is, Sharane had struggled all night and she was having to guard a post that was about a foot taller than her. She did OK by the way.

I thought the girls really played with a passion rarely seen this season. Morgan has always talked to the other girls, but she was really chewing on Kay-Kay and Edwards for stupid plays and fouls. I mean she was chewing the crap out of them.

I hope Kay-Kay isn't hurt badly. This was a solid win. Didn't think we could do it. This team is schizo. I mean really. It is. Maybe we can feed off of this and grab a win against Kansas and push forward over these final games.

I think this team deserves a few breaks.

Thank you ladies for a remarkable effort and a really good win.

Great win tonight. Morgan Hook was a captain, team leader and ever what you call a lady "stud". Really good team defense tonight. If Portia could remember who she was guarding she could get more playing time. Very exciting game to watch, as long as you didn't dwell on the poor shooting, but some of that was physical play, and good defense. I wish we would study the way texas rebounds with everybody aware of blocking out on defense, and girls going hard for the ball when it is shot-no standing and waiting for the ball to come to them.
But a great win. BEAT THE HELL OUTA TEXAS!!!
And please try to play good games in streaks longer then 1.

I'm very happy for the win, but I really didn't think the girls played very well overall. They did play tough and determined, however, and if they played this way all season we would have won a few more of those close games.

As for individual play tonight, Carter is a stud (figuratively) like I and a few others have been saying all season. She's our best player already, IMO, and will just keep getting better.

Morgan had a very solid game, was obviously in leader mode tonight. Kornet and Sharane had their moments too and both played very hard.

And Portia's play, if nothing else, proves that Sherri does indeed know what she's doing. Hardly anyone on this board had seen anything from Portia that we liked. But Sherri obviously knows more than us, and that's why Portia was in there tonight in crucial situations. And the girl did her team proud.

We faced adversity tonight (Aaryn) and stared her down. Great win, Sooners.

Well said. It was a good win especially without Aaryn.

Sherri noted in the post-game press conference that every time we fell behind, usually no more than four, we would make a basket and come back.

Although we did have a couple of scoring droughts, we did find a way to hold Texas until we came back.

As I thought, Kellogg and Edwards did not play in the second half. We weren't in that much foul trouble, and we didn't have to substitute that much due to foul trouble. Carter and Sharane had four, but Carter got hers late. Griffin and Kay Kay had three each. Hook played 38 minute. Carter and Kornet played 37.

We did get down one time in the first half by six. We just never let the game get out of hand. We did play pretty good defense.

We beat Gonzaga 82-78. We beat OSU 81-74. Those were the only two wins by fewer than eleven points---until tonight. We had lost to Louisville, Iowa State, and Texas in OT. We lost by 7 to Marst, 8 to Kansas State, and 1 to West Virginia. If it was close, we lost----until tonight.
