Walker

I'm just not a big fan of Dinjiyl Walker. He can shoot but other than that I just don't see any upside with him.

He's not a great ballhandler and he makes poor decisions. I'm hoping James can take some of his PT.

James is a better decision maker than him.

he is a good backup. I wish he would take it to the rack more but cant complain with how his shooting has been!

I've got to give it up to Walker for his play today. He played exactly the way we need him to play in games, quality minutes on both ends and making shots.

James is going to start taking even more of his minutes IMO.

James played very well last night. You could tell that he had a lot of confidence in his shot.

Yes, It's time for James and Walker to flip flop. James should be the first guard off the bench.

Absolutely. He looked confident on the one he made vs. LSU as well. I don't want to get overly excited based on just a few shots, but it certainly seems he's starting to find his "sea legs".

I definitely see James as a starter next year. Third guard spot is probably between Grandstaff, Odomes, or McGusty.

We are a better team if it means James is the first guard off the bench. Walker is very good, but he is limited physically, and is not a distributor at his size. If we can get Manyang and/or Odomes turned up, we will be able to match up with anyone come tourney time.

Odomes doesn't seem confident when he has hit the floor the past couple of weeks.

I was just about to say the same thing.

I was glad to see Kruger use some of his players for next year early last night. We will need McNeace in some form or fashion next year and was glad to see him out there when the game was still in question though we all knew OU was going to win.

Hopefully Odomes can get some more minutes in a few games this year though I'm not sure another game like last night is on the schedule except at Ft Worth.

And he makes really poor decisions.

I'm not sure we can expect too much from a kid who has not seen the floor enough to improve his confidence or his position in our rotation. A little over 3 minutes in last night's game; zero minutes at LSU; 3 minutes against TTU; zero minutes in the WVU and OSU games.

Every game since McNeese State, when he scored 15 points and grabbed 2 rebounds and 1 steal in 18 minutes, is very similar to the stats I posted above. While it's true that he has to find a way to make the best of his time on the floor, the truth is he is not getting much of a chance to show what he can do or to improve his confidence.

Rashard will be fine. He just needs more playing time.

EDIT to correct something I said above: Odomes logged 15 minutes in the Incarnate Word game and 14 minutes against Central Arkansas and Villanova. All of the rest have been 6 minutes or less, with most in the 0 to 4 minutes time frame.

You have to do more than just have a good game against a terrible team to get more minutes. We've lost 2 games with Walker being the 6th man. Nothing is going to change this late in the season.

I wasn't projecting his future with that statement but what I have seen recently. That in no way was an attack on him.

Walker is now shooting .325 from the field and .347 from 3 point range on the season. He has helped the Sooners in a couple of games this year, but it appears he has hit his ceiling and James has really started to play well and look comfortable on the court recently.

I know and I didn't take it that way. Since you are not the first to bring up his confidence level, and his performance for that matter, I simply wanted to point out that his time on the floor has been so limited the past few weeks, he really hasn't had much of a chance to prove what he can do.

Ya and we will continue to make James show last game can be his new normal.. walker should still be over him.. but that margin is getting thinner
