I see a lot of individual play on the part of Wichita State. Doesn't seem like the have an offensive identity.

They are playing hard, but it seems like they are trying to run, can't quite do it and end up making bad shots and playing a little bit out of control.

Does anyone know if they've played that way all year?

Frankly, I don't see anything special about them or their coach -- but I've only seen this game (which they are winning over Alabama).

Looks like motion. I'm not watching too keenly though.

yes. they play hard and have better players than anyone else in the mvc. they aren't necessarily a clean, crisp, fun-to-watch type team.

do they run around like a general clusterfock? yes. yes they do.

Amazing that such a ineptly run team could continue to win games. A miracle, really.

Sounds EXACTLY like OU this year....except for the winning part.

Well Coached and well prepared Fran, Offense is pretty Defense wins, btw the reason the offense looked bad at times was the Bama D.

No kidding.

surprisingly...sometimes.....there is a method to the madness. Look at Marshall's career and all of his teams do exactly that....WIN!

I could stomach playing a little out of control sometimes as long as I see wins.......cause winning cures MANY ills. LOL

I don't care if his style is not popular either. I want some wins. The Sampson years were so much fun.

WSU isn't a talent ridden team. Bama has more talent and lost that game.

Why? Coaching.

shooting the basketball is a talent. 'bama is a great defensive team. would struggle to score on an empty court.

Or maybe WSU was just better tonight, or got more shots to fall, or got more timely calls...

Coaching CAN affect a game, but sheesh...

WSU aren't world beaters. They did not make it to the NCAA. But you should consider what they did against their competition. They only lost 8 games this year. And only 1 game by double digits--and that was a 14 point loss at San Diego State. Most of the other losses were 3 to 4 points--including a loss to UConn by 4 and a loss to VCU by 1.

They beat Chaminade by 21, Virginia by 12 and Nebraska by 25. All teams who beat us.

This is WICHITA STATE people. What do you expect? They won the NIT, while Okie State, Nebrasksa, Virginia Tech, Miami, Wash State, Cal, New Mexico and Colorado couldn't even make it to the finals.

And, yes, Bama got beat. I thought WSU looked great for an NIT team considering their talent void.
