We haven’t beaten anyone in the top 50 and have one awful loss on our resume. If Arkansas and Florida were as good as some people think, our resume would be much better, but neither of them is very good. Arkansas is ranked behind every Big 12 team, for perspective.

Not sure which ranking you're referring to, but Sagarin has Arkansas at 39, just seven spots behind OU and ahead of four Big 12 teams.

He has Florida at 31, one above OU and ahead of five other Big 12 teams.

He has Utah State at 55 and Butler at 110--(that's the one that really stings).

And texas is being propped up by, well, by being texas. They get the pre- and early-season benefit of the doubt every freaking year. Their losses are only marginally better than ours, their best win (Stanford) is not impressive (the Cardinal is ranked 88 in Sagarin) and their strength of schedule (per Sagarin is 344th, 102 spots worse than ours (which is no great shakes at 242).

I look primarily at NET because it’s the NCAA’s own ranking system. But you’re right, other rankings view those teams more favorably. It would help us if they both get back on track.

I badly misspoke about texas' losses, both of which are much better than either of ours. But their wins are much worse than ours.
