Ana Llanusa scored 19 points for Oklahoma, but the Sooners’ turnover issues proved costly Wednesday at Western Kentucky.

WKU turned back an early OU lead and rolled to a 74-63 victory, leading by as many as 18 points along the way. Raneem Elgedawy scored 23 points and Dee Givens added 18 for the Hilltoppers (6-2).

OU committed 31 turnovers, which WKU turned into 28 points. It also contributed to 25 points in transition. The Hilltoppers dominated at the foul line making 18 of 27 free throws to OU’s 7 of 9.

Llanusa shot 8 of 13 from the field and 2 of 4 from 3-point range, committing three turnovers. OU’s other scorers didn’t replicate that performance.

Taylor Robertson finished with 14 points, making 4 of 15 treys. Gabby Gregory scored 11 points but turned the ball over five times. OU forward Madi Williams struggled, committing 10 turnovers.

OU led 16-12 after one quarter but WKU surged ahead in the second quarter and never trailed again.

The Hilltoppers delivered a fatal blow in the third quarter with an 19-4 run that stretched the lead to 18 points with 4:42 in the period.

Robertson made a 3-pointer to halt the run and the Sooners (4-4) got as close as three points down the stretch. OU committed six turnovers in the final 6:14 of play and was 1 of 7 from the field to finish the game.

OU has lost two of its last three games going into Saturday’s home matchup with LSU in the Big 12/SEC Challenge (3 p.m., FSOK).
