1. Killer recruiter (players and assistants)
2. Very good judge of character and ability

Anything in addition would be far back in my list.

This isn't personal, but that you want a "killer recruiter" first, shows you learned nothing from the Capel debacle.

As good a program as we have, we're not going to land top notch talent year in and year out. We aren't NC, Duke, UK, UCONN, or even UT to some degree. We need a coach that can actually COACH. The better recruiter he is, great. But that isn't nearly as important.

I want a defensive coach that has proven he can beat teams that have better talent. I want a guy that knows how to build a complete team/roster.

Capel sucked at recruiting. 13 of the 24 players he signed, left. If anything, he was a better in-game coach than a recruiter.

Young (under 50), good recruiter, comes from a good coaching tree, great x's and o's guy, good character, family man, a guy with less than 1 DUI, etc, etc.

you guys need to listen to WT there. that's the smartest stuff I have seen posted on here in weeks. spot on.

you need someone who can coach up what OUR school can support recruiting. now if he can recruit beyond that - outstanding. but first and foremost he needs to be able to win with recruits in the 75-200 range.

1. Must be named Terry Evans.
2. Must sign Josh Richardson from Santa Fe

Signing a good in-state kid like Richardson would be a great start, much like when Capel signed Cade Davis right off the bat. Ohh, and that Griffin guy.

People may not admit it, but I don't remember anybody complaining when we got a commitment from a 5-star big man from Norman named Kyle Hardrick. It was only when it ended up not working out that everybody decided it was a poor recruiting job.

I want a system in here. I don't care if it's Billy Tubbs running up and down the court, hardnosed defense, rebounding of Kelvin Sampson or somewhere in between. I would just like something that looks like a system instead whatever we had the last few years.

I shake my head at every one of you who continues this incessant "great recruiting" request.

you're falling into the same trap that Capel led us to in the first place.

We are NOT going to rebuild this program thru great recruiting. Quite honestly that's one of the dumbest things I have heard. We need guys who can win with the recruits OU can support consistently.

If you think Joe C. will find some recruiting genius that will have us outtalenting others then you need to send me to YOUR dealer because the stuff you're smoking is better than mine.
