I think OU is good, I believe they can make the Sweet 16 if all the chips fall in the right place. But until they learn how to play a complete team game they likely to fall short.

My expectations all year have been a top 4 finish in conference and a 2nd game in both the big 12 and ncaa tournaments. Nothing has changed for me one way or the other

No worse than a tie for 3rd in conference and making the Sweet 16....or I'm disappointed. I'm tired of the "they'll learn from this" excuse and enabling that is bantered around this board at times. I'm not going to apologize for holding my team to an expectation that is achievable with the core of players/talent and coaching that they have.

Several things: #1 Would love for one of our best 2 players (Heild/Thomas) to touch the ball in late first half and game ending shots. #2 Need to win a game in March. #3 Play more people, we didn't yesterday and still lost.

Since Tayshawn was declared eligible, I have always thought we could and perhaps would win the Big 12. This game changes nothing for me, could it make the road more difficult? Of course, but I believe this team is more the team we saw @Texas, then against KSU. We all felt this way after Creighton too...

Agreed. If this team can't win the Big XII, then when are they going to? And with us dropping these games, it makes it more and more difficult to secure a top 4 seed, at which point you end up in another situation where a first round NCAA tournament loss is in play.

Top 3 in the conference. Sweet 16. If things go right, finish in the top 2 and make it to the Elite 8.

This is not a Final 4 team but neither is it one that should lose in the first round of the tournament.

I still think we will peak in February/ March. Sweet 16 and finals of the big12 tourney or I'll be disappointed. Too much talent to not make it that far.

I think we can finish in Top 3 in conference but losses like this make the achievement more difficult. I'm not feeling a Sweet 16 appearance right now and that would be a huge disappointment. This team has shown year after year a propensity for losing a game(s) which we had no business losing. And IMO, this was one of those games. It seems we aren't mentally ready to play some games that we should win. That's exactly what a 1st Rd/2nd Rd tourney game would be, someone we'd be expected to beat. Hopefully, that doesn't happen but I'm just not getting a good feeling about making an extended run in the NCAA tourney and as good as we've played at times, anything less than Sweet 16 appearance would be a disappointment IMO.

Third in the conference, second with a little luck. Sweet Sixteen probability, Elite Eight possibility. There are about twenty teams that have a shot at two Final Four slots. I think OU is one of the twenty. From three to twenty-five just isn't that much difference.

This team just keeps getting my hopes high, only to have them set all the way back to 2 years ago with losses like Saturday...I see talent but I don't see the Wichita State factor in this team--that is, finishing close games (those guys have had like 8 wins in the last minute of the game this year). They haven't won a game by less than 10 and have lost every game decided by single digits. With the continuous inconsistency, I don't see how this team finishes in the top 3 of the conference.

I predicted 12-6 for conference and will stick with that for now. We've won one I didn't count on and lost one I didn't count on.

Honestly, I am just really hoping for one NCAA tournament win after that but would love to see us make the second weekend.

One difference is that the more successful teams find a way to win the close games. The games decided in the last two minutes. There will be many conference games where the team that finishes strongest is the winner. Late in the game, victory is often obtained by:

> making free throws;
> grabbing defensive rebounds;
> taking care of the basketball;
> poise, savvy and toughness.

My expectation for THIS SEASON is also a top 4 finish in the conference and a 2nd game in both the Big-12 and NCAA tournaments. I have higher expectations for NEXT SEASON. These expectations are realistic IF the Sooners execute in the final two minutes and learn to win the close ones.
