What was that 7 losses in a row stat they used to lead into the OU-UT game?

The 68/69 season was John MacLeod's second season just before he signed Alvan Adams who helped revive the OU basketball program. In fact, the teams Adams was on is why they built the LNC because the fieldhouse couldn't hold enough fans.

I know the 60's was the worst decade for OU basketball. Losing seasons every year except 61 and a .500 record in 67/68. Bad, bad basketball teams.

Thats the great thing about basketball... One guy can change the face of your program. Of course, that was Alvan Adams.

Maybe against CU, NU or TT.

KSU, @KU, @UT, BU, @OSU are all tough.

You think if we had played at CU or at NU or Tech either place we would have won last night? What team are you watching?

Either of those 3 are better coached than we are and would score on us every time down the court.

The only reason we were close last night is because Cade Davis was unconscious, and it's not like he's Michael Neal, Kelley Newton, or Hollis Price. He's had more nights of missing shots than making them, but luckily last night he hit some early in the game. Once he started missing, Texas went from a 12 point deficit to win by 11, so they outscored us by 23 in the final 10 minutes. They blew us out in the 2nd half, basically.

Uh.....no. All are borderline top 25 teams, two are bubble NCAA teams, and all have but Baylor probably have some rather bad losses.

I can't believe you just called the number what, 6 and 7 Big 12 teams "tough"? We're better than that, come on.

Hard to disagree with that.... OU was blazing the nets from 3 in the first half and was winning, went 3-13 in the second half and got blown out.

This is sort of like the chicken and egg comment.

If we were truly improving, wouldn't we be winning the occassional game, or not be getting blown out so often?

You would think so and it sucks that it hasn't happened. I'm just frustrated with this season and this team and am trying to find a positive, any positive, to cling to. This kind of men's BB season on the heels of the FB season we had has almost been too much. Especially with the obviously inflated hype we had entering the season.

Actually...none of those are bubble teams, all are firmly planted in the NCAA tourney.

I think you are delusional. If we replayed our entire schedule right now, we would probably be winless. We are a bad, bad basketball team. If you want some sort of positive to hang onto, the only one at this point is we only have 2 games left then it's over for a while. That's it.

so you don't think we win a game in our entire schedule if we replay it now and you call me the delusional one?

oh and also, michael neal is vastly overrated as a shooter/player. I would take cade anyday.

100% agree with this, that's why when I was watching last night I knew it was fool's gold. Everyone was excited we were up 12 or whatever, but I knew that wasn't the important statistic...more crucial to focus on how we're playing not the score. You may not like that logic, but that's how any coach in our situation views a team like ours. Doesn't mean you aren't "trying to win the game" during the moment.

My suggestion is if you can't handle the final scores, find a hobby between now and the spring signing period, because we've got a couple more coming.

Yeah.....I can't get behind that. There were guys at the Huff when I was there who could shoot set 3's as good as Cade. He makes up for it in other areas though.

Are you frickin' serious?

yeah. Neal was even more streaky, imo, than cade. I don't know if he was injured or what his senior year but he was bad. Cade shows more ablility to get to the rim as well. I think Cade does more than Neal and is just as good of a shooter

Neal had an injured hand his senior year.

Cade isnt even on the same planet in terms of 3pt shooting in comparison to Neal.

that explains it then. I couldn't remember if he was hurt or not. He was very streaky his senior season. I still think Cade brings more to the table though.

That's gotta be a joke...obviously don't remember Neal's junior year.

Then why not ask? Yes, his thumb was hurt. And as somebody that had the same injury, it's lucky he shot as well as he did.

His junior year, he had the 9th best three point percentage season of any Sooner that took 100 shots during that season. 42% is outstanding. And it's generally thought that players that take less shots should have a better %, as they can be selective. Only Hollis price of those 8 seasons that were better, took more shots.

i do remember it. when talking about his streakiness, i was mostly talking about his senior season. Obviously now I know he was hurt. I didn't know if it was that or if his first season was a fluke.

His JUCO percentages were really good too...his shooting is not a fluke.
