What would Lon need to do to overtake Kelvin or Tubbs

I think as far as a career, Lon is equal to both of these guys. He has gone to a final four. Is only coach to take 5 different programs to the tourney. He has won consistently.

As far as Oklahoma he needs a final four, at least one additional elite 8, and to make tourney every year he is there for then on out. If he stayed 5 more years, then I think he would be on par with those guys. Then you could debate what Lon did with any of those guys and have an argument. Lon took it over at a very low point.

I think he needs a couple of good seasons, including some success in the NCAA Tournament. I expect Kruger to do this. Capel really only had two good seasons and one of them was only moderately good. Capel's first, fourth and fifth seasons were bad. Arguably you could say Kruger has already passed Capel but I could certainly see valid arguments that he hasn't due to 2009.

Winning a ncaa tourney game would be a good start

Consistently winning and not getting in NCAA trouble would surpass Capel for me if we didn't win a tournament game.
