When will get our next recruit? Who in Sam Hill will it be?

If he just stands there by the rim with his arms up like that big indian dude from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, we will be improved, defensively, in the paint.

At 6'11 you would think Orlando Allen could fill that job. Obviously, Capel doesn't think that will benefit us.

Aziz would be a huge project, he will come in less ready to play than Big O. Add < 40% FT shooting.

Exactly. Why are some of you so hung up on Ndiaye? The guy is not near as skilled as Longar Longar, and he's a juco. Can you say Oleg Retzsov?

We don't need another no-talent big man to use up a scholarship. If he can't find anybody worth taking then hold the scholarship.

Too bad Capel can't find the Ernie Abercrombie's, Jameel Haywood's, Johnnie Gilbert's, Daryan Selvy's, or Joseph Szendrei's who could play bigger than they actually were. I'd rather either of these guys than both Orlando Allen and Ndiaye.

Don't we need another PG? TMG plays 40 minutes a game. Capel has to sign another point guard!

The fact that Kansas and Duke have given Nidaye looks should be enough to tell you something about his skills. Also unlike Orlando he has already has had a successful freshman season at the juco level. Think his stats were something along the lines of 7 points 10 boards and few blocks while Orlando had about 2 points 2 rebounds as a back up. Nidaye also looks the part, I've seen him person and he looks like he could be playing the NBA based on size alone (legit 6'10, long reach, is not skinny like Longar). I know we have had others that look like Tarzan but played like Jane but I have a good feeling on Nidaye.
Based on what is coming back it is hard to press to assume he isn't an upgrade on defense with shot blocking and rebounding. Even if he is really limited offensively I would still love to have him just because the poor defense by the team is my biggest complaint at this point in the season. Offensively my only hope is he has good hands so he can catch some alley oops from TMG consistently and finish put backs.

7 points in juco ball and you are 7 foot, that is good? Until his FT hits the 50% mark you can't play him. I believe his FT % is 24ish.

I'm not going to care about names we get in recruiting. It's a stupid thing to worry about right now. We need players there and we need them to play with the team. We have guys on our roster right now that are just there and occupy the same space but don't play with the rest of the guys.

Buttermaker, so you just ignored the rest of my post in regards to his defensive merit? Sure his offense is project like but the rest of his game, the part where this team greatly need help fits in exactly with what we need. If you have a lineup of this.
PG TMG
SG Cade
SF Cameron Clark
PF Tiny
C Aziz

He is the 5th scoring option and that is fine. There are two guys who can proven they go for 20+ at the college level, a very skilled 4 who I expect will take a big step forward next year and Cameron is a dynamic scorer at the high school level and I expect him to be a good option next year.

Would you rather get another Drew or Tiny like player with a good offensive skill set but defensive short comings or a guy who can compliment and greatly help out the team on the defensive end?

For starters if you are penciling in high school recruit to start for a D-1 school you have problems before the season starts. He ain't X Henry there are only a few of those guys a year. Add a juco center that isn't playing this year, avg 7 points last year and his free throw % was 24%. Who is that lineup going to beat?

Dude you are having a bad wet dream wake up.

You just described Orlando Allen's game. Tall, can alter shots, can rebound, but has zero offensive game.

Sure, we already have one player like this who doesn't ever get to play, so let's waste another scholarship on another player just like him.

Some of you need your head examined.

I don't think Aziz would start next year over Tiny and Fitz. Atleast not at the beginning of the season. Tiny, Fitz, and or Aziz will not be able to guard the versatyle 4s and that's what OU needs to fill as well as Aziz. We cant have Cade do it.

How many people this time last year and all summer penciled in Tiny and Tommy to play? Willie the year before that? Blake as well? Cameron is a very talented player and unless Pledger increases his agility and is a consistent threat from three who is going to start over him? Certainly won't be Ray.

You've been one screaming for a 2 post line up and here I give you that option yet you reject it? Why? Because one of the posts isn't good on offense? Have you seen our defense and rebounding this season? If we are lucky enough to get Aziz it will make us a better team in some regards then getting Terrence Jones just because he fills a need better.

I like Big O, he is a good guy, great attitude etc but the only thing Aziz has in common with him is they both have sat out a year in juco and are big guys. Big O wasn't getting looks from Kansas and Duke, Big O didn't have some international experience that Aziz has. Big O has also had issues with conditioning and weight, I do not think Aziz will have that because even though he has been out with a knee injury he looked to still be in good shape. If you are projecting him to be another Big O I believe you are selling Aziz very much short.

DM, I think/hope/might just be wishing that Tiny is going to work on his lateral movement, plus just plain learning how to play low post defense and get in even better shape this summer. I'm pretty sure he is going to project to be a 4 in the NBA, (like Glen Davis) so he will need to drop a bit more weight to do that. Also with a shot blocker like Aziz I think it will help out a lot down low. Who knows maybe we could even mix in some zone without making me want to throw a shoe through my tv like when we went zone vs OSU.

I don't care if Duke or KU are recruiting him, that doesn't mean anything. Case in point, KU recruited Win Case's son and he couldn't sniff the floor at any Big 12 powerhouse.

As for Tiny projecting as a 4 in the NBA...tiny isn't projecting as anything in the NBA at this point. Let's wait to talk about his NBA projections when the time comes that he plays at that level.

If you can't tell, I'm really down on this team and the mens basketball program as a whole. This is by far the worst season since before I was even born (68/69). I can't name the last time I failed to watch 3 straight OU basketball games when they were televised and that's where I'm at now.

Capel doesn't appear to have any clue and his players are running the asylum right now. For all we know, one of them might fire him and name their own coach. The way it appears from my couch, this could happen.

Recruiting for the last 4 years, other than BG has been a nightmare. A bunch of busts on supposed highly recruited players. So, why should I believe that's going to improve? We will probably get Ndiaye and he'll sit on the bench next to Orlando and we will all be on the game threads on this website asking "why isn't Ndiaye playing?". Then, it will come to the point the coach can't avoid playing him and he will get on the floor and stink up the joint just like Orlando did in Stillwater.

Capel needs a Ernie Abercrombie, Jameel Heywood, David Godbold type player. Heck, James Mayden would be a huge upgrade at the center position right now, and he wasn't very good.
