I suspect Pledger will play a lot but who else will get additional minutes? My guess is Carl Blair gets more time tonight.

I am wondering if any of the walk-ons can contribute. Can Kruger's nehpew shoot?

This Newell loss is going to be an issue this year in particular because OU really doesn't have any options. Perhaps Tyler Neal or Osby will play a few minutes at the 3 with Cam Clark playing sg to give Pledger a rest.

NOOOOO!
Just kidding he may be fine in the two spot playing along side Grooms. I just hope Grooms gets his scoring going soon. I wonder if Neal gets some time at the 2. Doesn't he usually relieve Cam?

I'm guessing that Blair and Neal will get more playing time. Kruger might also distribute Newell's minutes across the board with the nine or so players left in our regular rotation.

For the 100th time, he is redshirting due to NCAA transfer rules.

Blair needs the experience. It might be ugly for a bit (ie. many games) but we really need him to get action before conference play. I am all for him getting action tonight.

Newell was averaging 20 min a game give or take

tonight Pledge gets 5 extra min takes him to 33
Clark gets 5 more takes him to 30
Blair gets 5 more takes him to 20
Neal gets 5 more takes him to 19

As long as Blair is not dribbling the basketball I think he can give us some decent minutes at the "2".

Very interested to see if Neal can do some things at SG as well. Could be an interesting matchup.

Blair will get better with the ball.. He's a true PG he'll get it going

Not sure about tonight, but I have a weird feeling that Nova' will be getting Mr. Newell's minutes in the future.

In one line up do you see Neal being the two? We've ran a line up this season with Fitz, Osby, Neal, Clark, and Grooms/Blair on the floor at the same time and Tyler was the 3 in that situation. Are you suggesting that Osby slides over to the 3 and someone the 4/5?

I thought I read comments about him playing in the exhibition games. I read most things on this board. I guess I missed the first 99 times this was stated.

First, I agree with you that if Grooms, Clark, and Neal are on the floor with two posts, that Clark is the 2, and Neal the 3. Not that it really matters, as the 2/3 do pretty much the same thing on offense and defense.

I don't recall seeing that lineup on the floor though, and if it was, it was probably for VERY limited minutes.

It happened in limited minutes during the 76 Classic.
