Having been to the little apple.... and since they are both in Norman now.... I'd say neither.
And you want to talk about aggieville?????? lol. Why does either coach care about how hopping the bar scene is????
And I grew up in kansas... I know all about it... and now I live in Oklahoma.
Take a pill, buddy. I believe what ousoonerfan was trying to say, was that fatty was making a joke. There's no need to slam KSU or Manhattan, since between football and basketball, quite a bit of our coaching staff got their start there. I'm sure they're all pretty proud of that.
Wow... I had no idea that kstate was a protected topic here on this board. Lol. You guys are funny. I was being sarcastic in my first post, as I figured that was the tone of the thread.... But, then someone got butt hurt by it so I clarified...
And in my past experience with fatty, I can say I think he can take it... so you guys can stop sticking up for him. lol
Did you not know they circle around the field with motorcyles before football games? That has to be attractive to the top coaches.Neither, since both jobs have been opened and they didnt go back...
KSU was a great stepping stone job to get experience, but no elite coach is going to go there...they might be groomed there, but not go back...

Seems a little unprovoked and classless, come on man OU fans are better than this. Manhattan isn't a bad town at all, Aggieville (their bar district) makes a joke out of ours. Pretty charming town IMO, one of the better ones in the Big 12.
I never quite understood why people consider a coaching job at a BCS school as a steeping stone. I don't know, I mean if it were me and I was successful at a D1 school I might consider staying instead of going to a program that has a rich tradition and history. You can become a legend if you stay where you are at, but at these "prestigious" schools, you would be just another coach. I guess that's just me. Just thinking out loud here. BOOMER SOONER!!!
Because KSU is not OU, Texas, Nebraska, FSU, Penn State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Ohio State, USC, Miami, Florida, LSU, A&M, Auburn, Georgia, etc. etc.
It is a great football head coaching job but it is not remotely an elite job. That makes it a stepping stone job. I think there are people that would be attracted to the concept of building their own program/tradition but it simply isn't one of the elite jobs. The same thing can be said about basektball but the list of elite programs would be different.
Prior to Snyder KSU was an absolute joke. When I was in college Playboy listed it as the worst D-1 program of all time. Snyder has done an amazing job just to make it a respectable job.
