It seems obvious that LK plans to sign at least one more recruit in the 2012 class. With the recruiting dead period set to end at noon on Thursday, who will join Isiah Cousins to become OU's next commitment?

My money is on Matt Korchek. By all accounts, he really liked his visit and was giving some thought to pulling the trigger two weeks ago.

What say you?

I agree and I think it would be a good thing. It would mean OU goes into next season (meaning 2013/14) with two returning big guys that have practiced together plus Neal and Clark that could probably play some minutes at PF if absolutely necessary. OU could then try to sign a couple or even three bigs in the next class.

Korcheck won't be another project like we always get from JUCO will he? Would seem like a waste of a scholly.

It will be interesting to see if that's the case. Our coaches seem to really like the kid. He's 6' 10" 220 and he averaged around 15 points and 7 boards last season. Those are not what I would call great numbers at the juco level. But, Korchek (I've seen it spelled Korcheck) wants to redshirt his first season, and according to what I read right after his visit, OU's coaches have agreed to honor his wishes.

Guess we'll see how it turns out if he commits to OU. He reportedly has offers from Baylor, New Mexico and OU, with Zona and WSU showing interest.

I don't think we always get projects from Juco. Jaun Pattillo, Aarron McGahee, Victor Avilla, Taj Gray, and a whole bunch of backcourt players were not projects. There have been some juco projects over the years but most of the time OU knew that when they signed them and wanted to take the chance on the kid.

This kid signed d-1 coming out of high school. He scored a lot of points in Juco ball and seems pretty motivated to be the best player he can be. Given that OU will go into 2013/14 with only one true forward on its roster, I think it is in the best interest of the program to sign this kid.

I think Korcheck is the best guess. Personally I would like us to sign one of the two bigs that would be incoming freshman, but I'll take Korcheck and be happy with him redshirting.

With Osby, Fitz, and Arent graduating after next season we would need to bring in some height.

I agree Korcheck seems to be the most likely choice. That will give OU both M'Baye and Korcheck for the year after next. I like the trio of Fitz, Osby, and M'Baye for next year. It could be a lot worse.

I agree, Ada and others on Korcheck. Think he may be pretty good post and that Kruger agrees to redshirt him, I have to think he must be at least decent or better.
If OU gets him, I think we may be done with this class, but wouldn't surprise me if we signed one more big for this class, but only if he can contribute in his first year...like maybe the JUCO Bennett, or Nolan...if we can land either. Wonder about our current status w/ Nolan?
The only article I've seen is the one on here a few weeks ago where he said he has interest in OU and were recruiting him the hardest at the time...and were wanting to get him in for a visit asap. Would be nice to have a post player w/ a little D1 experience going into 2013...if OU can land a pretty good prospect, that is.
Any updates on Nolan, anyone?

Oops! brain fart forgetting about M'Baye. My bad. So thinking we may well be done with just one more signee, likely Korcheck.

I think we sign Korcheck and then Kruger holds on to the other scholarship for a D-1 transfer.

Korcheck 14.7 and 6.5 boards on 57.8% shooting and 1.58 blocks per game ..

down to us and Arizona ... and if they offered he can play
