Why didn't Kruger call a timeout?

Given the performance of our half court offense for 39:55, I think LK made a sound decision. There was time for someone to get a good look at the basket, closer than 3 pt range. The fly in the ointment is that Pledge shot too early and too far out. We had the UC defense in disarray.

I am sure when Pledger watched the tape he was not happy with his decision. He just went a little too fast. He will learn. Fans have to realize these guys did not have good coaching prior to Kruger. They have a lot to learn.

I got to see him coach quite a bit while I was in Vegas. I really think you all will like him. He's a very good xno guy and works the sideline very well. I always felt he prepares his team in practice and inbetween games and then lets them do their job come gametime.

I go to Kruger's practice about once a week and he does an outstanding job of coaching in practice, as does his staff. I concur that he prepares his team in practice and tends to let them do their job come game time.

I like how he is bringing his team along this year. I just think his approach is slightly different than most coaches in that he does not try to over coach at games end unlike most of his peers.

Just an observation and it is still too early to make a final assessment of his style. I think he is letting them learn to adjust on their own and might become more proactive once we are into the conference season.

I've always liked that approach. IMO a team needs to be able to function, think, etc., on their own when push comes to shove. Part of that comes from having a leader on the court. When UNLV made their run a few years ago he had his son, Kevin at PG. I hate it in close games when players are always looking over to the bench. And, just as much, I hate it when the coach gets a stranglehold on the last few minutes.

Why in the world are you guys still talking about this? lol
