I wonder about that, does baylor offer more than OU can?
Is KM just flat out better evaluating talent?
Does SC more time at home and fund raisers then recruiting?
Sherri can not make the connection with these young ladies anymore.
Or is KM just plain and simple the superior coach ?

Top college coaches are relentless recruiters, regardless of sport.

I don't think anyone has ever described Coale's recruiting as relentless.

KM out recruits almost every coach in the country. You make it sound like all of those coaches are playing bridge instead of recruiting. I'm sure there are other coaches who recruit just as hard.

Mulkey recruits to a type. I think that a lot of players wouldn't want to play for Kim. But, she can attract a type of kid that responds to a persecution complex, a we-vs-they attitude. I was a bit surprised to see Cox go to Baylor, but not after watching her this year.

I suspect that a Breanna Stewart would tell Kim exactly what sort of lower earth climate she could find in which to live.

I do think Sherri has one weakness. She is a teacher and responds to the kid, like TT, who is exhuberant rather than talented or smart on the court. I don't think TT would play for any other coach in the Big Twelve.

Most importantly she doesnt like to recruit and doesnt like recruiting. It shows.

I've seen that many times on this board. Do you have personal experience with that? If so can you elaborate?

If you want big recruits to come, it's pretty simple..........just WIN!!!

6 soon to 7 consecutive seasons with 30+ wins will make recruiting so much easier. Also if you find that "diamond in the rough" player that no one wanted and turn them into an All-American like my favorite LadyBear of all time Sophia Young-Malcom, that will also show your coaching ability.

Well Baylor is in Texas that helps a lot when you see all of the talent that's in state, it's one reason the PAC 12 has gotten so strong, by keeping the kids home... it's a bit confusing why none of the top kids in Texas 2018 class are looking at OU other then Reese. I remember watching a video when Sherri talked about the recruitment of the Paris twins, she said she doesn't really like to recruit... skilledserv knows a lot about Texas and what schools kids are looking at why kids aren't looking at OU, and a bunch of other useful information, he/she also post on the Baylor board and is someone I would consider a Baylor fan... while it seems like he/she has an agenda over here... it's really just facts about our program and where it's headed regarding recruiting. Basically the story is OU has ruined its relationship with one of the top AAU teams in Texas, I won't say the program because this is all rumors but if you follow recruiting, then you'll know the AAU program I'm referring to, it's probably the Top AAU program in Texas and one of the top nationally... OU hasn't signed a player associated with said program in a long time, not sure what happened or if it's fixable...

Regarding the "Sherri type" comment I've heard she likes Christian kids and has a mandatory bible study...

Better recruiters among their assistants and I'm sure Mulkey is hitting the recruiting trail better than Sherri. OU's assistants seem to be lacking.

If true and I was the one cutting the pay check for Sherri I would tell her best to start liking recruiting more.

or maybe hire someone who enjoys it... Pam has helped, but I'm not sure she's able to connect with the youth of today. An example of a good hire would be someone like Tiffany Jackson Jones if she was interested in coaching would be a good hire she's played basketball at ever level, and I'm sure she has some good ties to the state of Texas.

Sherri has stated publicly she doesn't like recruiting. That is doable if you have a top notch recruiter on staff. We do not and haven't had in one quite a while. Can't think of her name, girl who played high school ball for Sherri and went to UConn. She was a pretty good recruiter. Recruiting has gone downhill since she left.

Hansmeyer. I agree that the recruiting has gone down since she left. I think we need a young coach that relates to the players. I go to all home games. I see TK doing some in game coaching. Pam does a little less than TK. JR keeps some stats.

Sorry, folks, but I'm not gonna let this potshot go unanswered...

So, Sybarite--you made a comment about Lauren Cox that was borderline disparaging. Just what are you implying, Syb? I can only guess, but I doubt it's flattering. I wonder if you would have the guts to say what you mean to her parents? Perhaps you need to learn more about the young woman...and the BU coach you loathe...

So what type of of kid do you think Lauren Cox is, Syb? I'd like to know.
As for basketball, she demonstrated what kind of player she was last night by owning Vivi, skillfully handing out assists, and scoring when necessary.
She could have signed with a host of programs and become an immediate starter and star. She chose BU because she wanted to learn from quality upperclassmen and extremely successful coaches.
My own impression from reading this article is that she is a young woman of impressive character as well. Who knows what Syb will see, but I hope you're not so poisoned by your hate for everything Baylor that you cannot recognize that Lauren Cox is quality.

On to Kansas, Sooners!
