Why will (or won't) OU beat OSU?

This should be more interesting than do or don't fire Jeff Capel.

I think OU wins because:

It is in Norman and OSU has not done well on the road. I also think OSU is not as capable as some other teams at exploiting OU's weakness in the interior. I think OSU has the advantage in the paint but it is not as decisive as some of the other Bbig XII teams. Finally, I like the home team on senior night when they are reasonably matched. For example (and I did not see the game) Tech destroyed OU on senior night.

What worries me about this game is that OSU likes to push the tempo and OU may struggle with a fast paced games.

Re: Why will (or won't OU beat OSU?

We win if we play the whole games like we did the first 12 min in stillwater.

Side note... Anyone else notice that the first half T on Ford was the turning point for our whole season

Re: Why will (or won't OU beat OSU?

I'm guessing OSU wins. Why? Oh I don't know. Maybe it's because OU is on a 8 game skid and really reeling or maybe it's because OSU is just more talented. Fitz and Blair scored effectively last time...not holding my breath for Blair to do much this time around.

To win, I think Pledge and/or Clark need to show something. Those two have virtually disappeared. On a team that needs scoring, they just can't do that.

OSU by 6.

OSU sucks on the road and I think some OU fans are giving OSU to much credit. OSU barly beat Tech at home and had one given to them by Baylor.

On the other hand OU is really bad. This might be one of the ugliest games of the year.

Re: Why will (or won't OU beat OSU?

I think OSU just isn't that good. I'm not saying OSU played bad against Baylor but they just showed up. Baylor gave them that game more than anything. I think if either Capel or Ford had Baylor's roster both would look a lot better as coaches. As bad as Capel and Ford have been this year with no real discernible styles. And with Capel that's pretty much always been true. It's even more true with Drew. Drew is probably the worst coach we've seen in this conference since Danny Nee. I think OU has better talent. Should win the game. Don't really think it changes anything with Capel.

you mean the same tech team that just embarrassed us last night ( and i know it was on the road, but that home court advantage was not worth 30 points)

Sooners will lose because they are that bad!

If Dunn wouldn't have been chasing that scoring record, I bet Baylor wins that game. This game comes down to Clark and Pledger...they have not been showing up.

Hate to lose to OSU in anything, but I think Moses and Pilgrim are too much for Fitz. If we shoot well from 3 like we did at the start in Stillwater we may stay close. OSU is still playing for a NIT bid. A loss to a bad team like OU would destroy that.

and it would be pay back for 2001 and 2002

Re: Why will (or won't OU beat OSU?

I think OSU is in the NIT regardless of what happens in this OU game. Losing to OU might cost them a home game in the NIT. But being on TV with 5,000 fans in the crowd isn't much of a prize for winning.

Payback for what in 2001 and 2002?

We split both years and we were both Tournament teams... I don't remember OU's losses to OSU doing anything to their seeding or anything...

Little help...???

These two guys say hi:

(Can't believe I found a pic with both of them in it! :))

In regards to ruining our football seasons

In regards to ruining our football seasons

My bad... I thought we were talking about basketball. :)

Anyway, didn't you already take care of that by ruining our first real chance to make the Big 12 title game in football this year?

Re: Why will (or won't OU beat OSU?

I could see Dowell abusing Blair saturday. He is stronger and faster than Penn and he can get to the bucket.

I could also see Dowell choke because it's a road game.

I think the unknowns are: will Pledge and Cam show up?

Who wins the PG battle?
Will Page hit any shots or keep brick laying.

I believe it will come down to the last 2 minutes.

I edited in the closing parenthesis in the title.
