Yep, even Bobby Knight with all his ranting, cursing, demeaning, and military-type coaching antics still had players that loved him and supported him.

Not so much with Marshall.

Fans here in Wichita love them some Marshall! They won't believe that he is a terrible person and does terrible things to his players. He legit has lost some really nice players the last 2-3 seasons now, but fans think it's because they were all head cases and Reaves sucks lol..

Exactly, and yet when you read the comments on Twitter, the prevailing theme is that the kids who left are soft and selfish and the program is better off without them if they don’t buy in. It really is amazing. Some of my friends who are more knowledgeable realize that Marshall is the problem but the general fan base will defend him no matter what.

He's coached as WSU for 13 seasons. In that time period have players tried to transfer from WSU, and if so, at what rate. It is understandable that the "transfer policy" now makes it easier to leave one school and unpack at another as compared to before the policy was enacted. How much of a factor is "wokeness" Also, if he is more of an "ass of a man" today than in past years that could help to explain some things.

He needs to win more if he wants to be that big a jerk. And Knight’s downfall accelerated when players started leaving the program at a rapid pace.

You don't also hear guys like Shamet or Van Vleet or others rave about him after they leave, and come back to support him. Knight's players did this, or at least a lot of them.
