If someone has an injury and would miss >50% of the season, then I think they would RS.
Other than that I think everyone plays.

Not this year with 5 posts & 6 guards. Perfect number unless one of the posts can't beat out Cole for minutes. Don't see that happening though with Freeman already redshirted and reports that Doolittle looks better than him.

Maybe Shepherd? I think that redshirting is a seriously underutilized practice in college basketball. Just the physical advantage of being a 5th year senior who is a man amongst boys out there is a huge deal. Having Dante Buford and McNease 3 years from now is going to be huge, those guys are going to flat out bully the 19 and 20 year olds they're matched up against.

That being said, Kruger's m/o has generally been to not redshirt guys, so I wouldn't expect it to happen unless a guy like Shepherd is just flat out not ready to play like McNease was 2 years ago.

Probably not, but somebody (Shepherd perhaps) isn't going to see many minutes.

We didn't go much deeper than 5 players at guard spots last year. That 6th guy isn't going to play much. Probably the same for the 5th post guy, which will likely be Freeman from the reports we're hearing. He can't redshirt though.

So I'm going to say no, but we'll have 1-2 guys that don't play much.

There will be several guys who don't see many minutes when we get into conference play. The rotation will get down to about 8-9 (usually 8) players with some token minutes to others in blowouts.

Redshirting can backfire sometimes if a kid never really contributes or adds anything in the locker room. He takes up a scholarship that you would rather give to a HS player. Obviously Kruger wanted CJ Cole's leadership and maturity to set an example for a young team. We all know CJ won't likely get many minutes but he's just a great kid.
