I heard before Underwood was leaving that Evans was leaving. I'm sure with him leaving that just solidifies his decision.
I wonder if Underwood takes any recruits with him. He did that to SFA when he brought Averrette with him.

Interesting question. Is Jawun Evans a 1st round pick?

On a related issue, I thought I would compare the current recruiting classes for Illinois and OSU.

2017 Illinois Recruiting Class (#11 Class per 247Sports)

I think he's a 1st round pick & leaves. No information, just my observation.

From everything I read, he is on the cusp of the first round. Tough choice.

He's going to be the same guy next year as he is this year only with less talent around him. The only way him returning pays off is if he grows 2 or 3 inches.

The thing is, this year's PG class is suppose to be pretty deep...so even if he is the same player and doesn't improve a ton...he could get drafted higher.

He needs to improve his outside shot and improve his range...so it isn't like he has nothing to work on. His little quick penetration and throwing up some garbage floater...hoping to get fouled isn't going to cut it in the NBA.

It's better for OU to play against tougher competition. I hope he stays.

He wasn't an Underwood guy so hard to tell what him leaving will do to his decision.

It's a toss up - better competition in the conference vs angst in Stillwater.

That is a good argument :-)...but I want him to stay for the same reason I wanted Gorges Niang to stay at Iowa State for his senior year. I knew that extra tough competition would help OU come Tourney time. Playing twice against one of the best guards in the country (I'm assuming he'll be in that conversation if he stays) will better prepare us come Tourney time.

Picked up an interesting nugget reading a release on this that Jeffery Carroll is a possible grad transfer as well.

Wow if true OSU is getting absolutely gutted this off-season... even if he stayed I thought they would struggle, without him they will be lucky to win a game in conference next year. I like Solomon and dillard and that's about it.

This tells me the players didn't like Underwood's style. He coached with Huggins and Martin at KSU. They are all 3 really big buddies as they get together at the final 4 every year. The players they recruit can handle their style as they know before they get there what to expect. I'm guessing Underwood knew what he was looking at next year and with the offer from Illinois to triple his income couldn't pass it up.
