After tonight, we are one and done in the tournament. And all the progress brings us crashing down to nearly where we we 20+ plus years ago.

So, this is the question I pose tonight:

Will Sherri change her staff, fire people or run them off in order to buy herself some time with new blood to fix this Titianic?

Can she bring herself to let go of Chad, Pam or her best friend in life, Jan?

Will Joe give her that ultimatum? Would such an ultimatum make her retire or quit?

Does she take a bullet for everyone and retire/quit?

No.

No.

No.

No.

If nothing changes in the offseason I will be surprised. This team is a horrendous excuse for a college basketball team. And other coaches quite frankly have been baffled by how poor of a product SC has put out this year in her team. Something is broken and in desperate need of fixing and if the ad doesn't make any changes point blank doesn't give a damn about the program. I have faith at least someone is going to be blamed for this. SC probably not. baby boy probably not. Wouldn't be surprised if Pam took the blame or Chad. Although Pam's done as much as she could with the little talent she had down low.

What it comes down to is if you are relying on someone like Mandy Simpson to carry the team as the center you shouldn't expect much success. She's just not a division 1 player and shame on SC for putting the entire load on her. Now the perimeter players, supposedly have so much talent, not sure where the breakdown is there.

Sherri is not going to change her style of play. These girls are slow & no defense. She needs athletes not good girls

I asked about coaches, though. Not players.

Nope Sherri needs athletic basketball players. Athletes would be projects and the last thing she needs is another project or two or three. Madi Williams is a 5* athlete not a 5* basketball player hence she is a project. She may never learn to put the ball in the hole or learn to take care of the basketball.

The biggest problem with Sherri's staff is they are are yes people that are virtually life long friends with Sherri excluding Pam who has been with Sherri off and on for 23 years. They let Sherri micro-manage everything just as she demands. She will deep them as long as they will stay and none of them have anywhere to go.

That is what Sherri wants in a staff. Consequently new ideas, fundamentals, accountability and changes in recruiting targets will not be forthcoming. This is Sherri's program and she is going to do it her way. Success be damned.

First Sherri has to see there is some coaching issues, right now I really don't think she believes there anything wrong

she won't make any changes in her staff until the administration forces her to.

OH when I first looked at your post i thought your were setting us up for an"April Fools Joke":)But to answer your questions there will be no changes:OU-logo:

It is easy to blame the players, but I usually find if something is going consistently wrong it is more likely that the system in place is the problem.

It is systemic that we have excessive turnovers and many of them unforced.

It is systemic that we do a poor job of covering the three point line.

It is systemic that we consistently lack size inside. If not at the #5 at the #4. Even when we had the Paris twins and Olijawan we often had only one of them on the court at once.

It is systemic that we miss so many open layups.

In my opinion it is systemic that we have a hard time getting open shots in our half court game.

The claim that we do not have athletic players is a copout. You don't have players going off for 20 and 30 points a game or have a string of double doubles if they are not Div I competent. No team has a full roster of players with that capability. We do have a few that should never been given a scholarship but again most teams have a few.

By the way I expected to see us lose at Lubbock but didn't expect it to be this close. Tech brought in a coach that turned the Minnesota program around and the team has improved during the year. It may be awhile before we win in Lubbock again.

You are correct about Tech and their coach. They have lost 11 games by 8 points or less. She is having to teach them how to play to win and how to finish when they have the lead late in the game. Along with OU, Tech is one of the teams Mulkey was referencing earlier this year that used to be good but have lost it and it not being easy to get back like it was.

Wow. Did this topic just become relevant again! ROFL

Some answer a question for me? If Sherri made staff changes on her own or if Joe C. made an ultimatum why is Colton still there? What does Colton bring to the table that Pam and Chad do not bring in spades?

I can think of nothing but youth and energy and definitely not experience in any facet of the game or recruiting prowess. Obviously blood is thicker than water and the family comes before the basketball team. JMHO.

Just an assumption, but I bet Colton is furiously looking for a job. If he isn’t, then this program still has problems.

IMO, not a sane, single prospective assistant coach would take this job realizing her kid kept his position while all her other assistants got fired.

The team’s primary problem is a lack of talent...Pam and Chad have been the assistant coaches primarily responsible for recruiting so they have proven they haven’t performed at the level needed in recruiting. Colton hasn’t been through a recruiting season yet...so what he brings is the hope that he is a good recruiter.

Looking more like OU just put a band-aid on a gushing wound
