Not when the team sucks like this. Oklahoma isn't about losing and never has been.
If you are happy with losing go cheer for aTm, Tech, or Nebraska...those programs have lost a lot over the years.
I'm not the one *****ing endlessly about how bad we suck and will suck in the future, if it makes you [not directed at you] so miserable, go root for another team that never loses or has a bad year...like UNC [see what I did there].

I remember in 1996 there were a lot of guys like you that kept being behind John Blake and it led to him being there for 2 more miserable years. I'm sorry but you can't just say let's keep being mediocre I'm fine with that. Not that is not fine. If Jeff Capel's team is mediocre next year forget being fired he should resign.
I definitely was not a Blake fan but it was his recruits that won us our last nat'l championship so I sure am thankful for those that kept him around 2 more years...

I'm not upset about the losing, though that does bother me. But what really upsets me is the fact we don't care and we are lazy. Sure, Davis and Crocker care, but nobody else does. Fitz seems to care but he's just not athletic enough right now. I thought Pledger cared a little but last night he was so lazy on defense. TMG and Tiny don't care about the team.
On top of this, Capel keeps letting them play even when they don't hustle. He doesn't give them the hook, he doesn't yell at them, he just keeps letting them play. The tail is wagging the dog on this team.
I'd rather lose every game and have a team that plays with heart and hustles than to have a season like this. That's why I'm *****ing so much.
I agree with Nick...some of you are the same people who were saying to give John Blake more time.

Oklahoma football is going to get players just because it's Oklahoma. Like Rocky Calmus was coming to OU no matter what. Roy Williams the OU staff didn't even know who he was till his aunt told the coaches. Trent Smith was coming to OU no matter what. Also how many of Blake's players were playing their correct positions? Bring in a decent coach in like 1998 or 1997 and we would be the top program we are today. Oklahoma football is different from OU basketball though. They don't get the choice of players OU basketball does.

Heupel, Klein, Griffin, Marshall, Strait, Everage, Works, Savage, Lehman, and Wilkerson were all Bob's recruits.
Heinecke and Steffen were walk-on's that Blake wouldn't even let see the field of play.
And plenty of other players Blake may have recruited but were in the wrong position.
The only thing that John Blake and Jeff Capel have in common is well, nothing.
One guy was pretty much suck from the jump, had no real experience and never had any success, none.
One guy has takne not just one, but two seperate programs to the NCAA Tournament and made it to an Elite Eight before his 35th birthday.
Pretty much the same situation, huh?

From that 2000 team JT Thatcher was a RB under Blake. Several receivers were playing other positions. Daniels was playing QB and DB then moved to WR. Imagine if he had 2 years at WR under a system like we had in 99. He might have made it in the NFL. Frank Romero was playing defensive end. The CBs were both Stoops guys on the NC team. Strait might be the best corner in school history, and Thompson was also a Stoops recruit.

Seriously, at one point you were calling for Bob Stoops to be fired, but now you are still saying that we are a top program? You have some strange takes on things sometimes, interesting, but strange.
IF we got rid of Tiny, Willie and TMG, I guarantee that we would have a year like this next year. But since Capel would be doing what you wanted would you give him another year after that?

No, because it's his fault he evaluated them. Nobody twisted his arm on taking the 3 of them. He actively evaluated them and recruited them because he thought they could help the program.
So basically get rid of the three players that give him the best chance to win; and when he doesn't, kick him to the curb for losing. Glad your not my boss.

Like I said, he recruited the players. I think he should cut them loose and find some replacements who want to play with heart and who want to hustle. I can guarantee you they'd win as many games as the won this year and probably 3-4 more.
Pledger does care, but when your playing with a bunch of selfish guy's you get drawn in
Actually, there's not. If John Blake got to coach for 50 years, there was no evidence whatsoever that he could have taken OU's program to the football version of the Elite Eight no matter how many great players he had.
I still can't believe some of you're making these ridiclous comparisons.
