Will we better next year?

way worse. cept 3 guys none of these guys have ever played together. it will take at least half the season to figure out how they play together and see the pieces we really need.
I disagree with your reason for why we could be worse, if anything the team should figured it out a lot sooner than this past team (if it ever did). This upcoming team is going to be more a team than the last seasons. Now they could very well have some flaws (front court does scare me a little right now), but I have a feeling this team is going to be similar to Capel's first year and at least battle and play together unlike this past year.

As I said before we were the worst team in the Big 12 after WW went down. I dont think we can be worse.

I believe this team has a chance to improve our win-loss record. But there are a few IFs that factor into the equation, such as team chemistry, how quickly they buy into the idea that defense, when played with a great deal of intensity and purpose, can overcome a lot of deficiencies. There are others, but you get the idea.

That said, "better" to me is also a season free of the distractions of last year. As far as I'm concerned, that was far worse than the number of games we lost. There is no need to rehash that long list of upsetting and often embarrassing incidents, on an off the court. But if I never see a season like that again, I will consider it a monumental success.

If the new recruits aren't total d - bags and work in the framework of a team then definitely yes. NCAA tournament good? Probably not, but I think the Big 12 lost a lot of talent from last year so anything is possible.

Tough question. Cade is the only proven commodity returning and he was hot and cold. Maybe he will be a little more consistent with his treys next season. There is nothing wrong with the rest of his game.

My big concern is the middle. I don't see either of the two big guys we recruited being better than Wright. Hope I am wrong.

Blair fills a big need and I have hopes for Pledger and Fitzgerald. Pledger has to learn how to get his shots in the flow of the offense rather than just firing away the first time he sees any daylight. Fitz played solidly the last part of the season but I don't know how much upside he has from his freshman season.

We could be slightly better but I will most happily admit I am wrong if we break out.

Those of you who don't think next years's team will be better than this year amaze me.Yeah we are without 3 BURGER BUYS but so what?if we had played up to the talent level I could see the negative outlook but we sucked.Capel took over a team in turmoil his first year, was thin on talent and depth and they finished 16-15.You seriously think that this team can't at least play to that level?Just remember that I will be here to chastise you naysayers next season.

I appreciate your positive outlook, stoopified, and darned if I don't find myself agreeing with you. Last year's team was the most underachieving Sooner team I can remember in all my years as an OU fan. If this year's group can overachieve on anywhere near as grand a scale, they should at least be be able to play .500 ball.
