With conference starting in 6 days and the pre con schedule almost over, how do you guys think we will do this year?

I think that we will win 8 conference games PLUS how ever many wins we get in the 1st 5 games. I'm thinking 10 total. I hope that I am thinking low.

I am going to go with 10-8

The Big 12 is close to being the best that it has been (top to bottom) as I have ever seen it.

If we steal one from Texas on the road then I'm thinking 11-7.

A lot of CBball experts are saying Big 12 is maybe the top Conf in the country. VERY tough

I'm hoping for better, but went with 7 - 9 wins in the poll. Split the difference and I'm at 10-8 in conference play.

The Big 12 is obviously stronger than everyone thought before the season started. So, if OU can finish with a winning record and no worse than a fifth place finish, we'll be dancing again. Sixth place might do it, too. I'm just not as confident in finishing that low.

We won 11 last year, and that was with bad losses to TCU and Texas, and Buddy missing a number of games.

I'd be pretty disappointed, assuming we stay relatively healthy, if we didn't win at least 10 or 11 this year.

We are going to have a very tough start to the conference schedule. We need to win a couple of those, and not get down on ourselves when we lose.
If we stay healthy, we should win 11+.

This.

I see no reason for us not to be able to defend our home court against everyone, beat TCU and hopefully Tortilla at their places, and steal maybe a couple others. But, like I said in another thread, it never happens the way it should. I guess I should hope for 10-8 so I won't be disappointed. I just think this team is an easy above .500 conference team.. Have to avoid further injuries and get Hornbeak back pronto.

10-8

7-1 vs TCU, Tech, West Va and KSU
2-2 vs Tx and Baylor
1-5 vs OSU, KU and ISU

8-10 is most likely. Unless teams like Tech are better than UTA/Seton Hall, etc. them we might be working hard to scratch out 6 wins. The way a weak A&M team easily took us out of our offense was very concerning.

It just amazes me how you guys can take an 11-2 record and individual games that we have won and use them as evidence that we have a weak team. It would make more sense to me if you were using a losing record and games that we lost as evidence as evidence of poor performance.

If we get healthly and stay healthy we should be able to get 10 to 12 wins. If we losse spang we are in deep crap!

I don't think its saying we have a weak team..but a weak non conference schedule, maybe.

You need to just throw the 11-2 out the window b/c we are about to head into conference play without a single quality win. And only W.V., TCU and Tech can say the same thing. That puts 6 teams coming in that has actually beaten a ranked team.

Exactly. Our gaudy record against a weak OOC is not the best indicator/predictor for our success in conference. This is probably the best Big 12 (top to bottom) to date. I think we will be very fortunate to end up at 9-9. I hope that we improve and can get over .500, but I just don't see it right now.

Betcha we do better than 1-5 against those last 3.

Already 1-1. I think the two road games against KU and ISU will be tough, but I like our chances to win at least one against OSU.
