At #7, Ariel Atkins was the first Big Twelve player selected. Goodwin, Kristi Wallace, and Muldrow were also selected.

One pre-draft ranking had Vivi about 12-13, but she wasn't drafted. Similarly, they didn't grab Kylie Jensen who was ranked in the top 36 or Maddie Manning who was #35 on their board. McCarty was ranked on one pre-draft board, but wasn't drafted. I didn't see that Ortiz was ranked, except on one board as a #30 or so shooting guard.

Says a lot about our quality of players, but so many girls are looking more to move on with their lives after college/sports anyway. Most, I believe don’t see the WNBA or overseas play as a realistic, sustainable post college life.

This is all really shocking to me. McCarty not drafted? She was Big 12 player of the year last season! This is very telling...

I was shocked at that too. She’s been a thorn in our side for like 15 years or so.

Lot of difference in college and pro. I can easily see why McCarty was ignored. UCLA guards were quicker and taller.

So is there still a chance now for her to play in the WNBA? I'm not sure how it all works out.
