Eh.
Put Forte on a team with more than one other decent scorer, and he'd be MUCH tougher to guard. Kind of like Pledger from OU a few years ago. It was the Osby/Pledger show, so both were easier to guard.
Also, I don't think Woodard would do a very good job guarding Forte all game. Luckily, we were able to avoid that most of the night.
Agree. Let's not downplay Forte's skills. We spent the whole game trying to keep him from scoring with all of our guards, and he still got 15 points and shot more than 50% from the field ... and opened up the court for the rest of his team.
If he were four inches taller, he would be a Wooden candidate and an NBA prospect.
Would Forte be a threat if they actually called his flops correctly? He's a good shot, but I don't know that he is a BCS conference level star type. He gets some calls.
No doubt.
Look I think he is a good role player on a contender. He is not a star...
Yep. In the Forte thread 3 or 4 weeks ago I caught a bit of flak for saying Forte would be a nice sixth man for OU. That's just the truth. Nice player, but not the best player on an even decent team.
My glasses are just as crimson as yours, but Forte has had a solid career in the Big 12. He is a good (not great) player who requires a lot of defensive attention.
No reason to run him down. He's the kind of player I like: hard worker, knows his skills and plays to them, tough, not afraid to mix it up. Would love to have him on my team (as a starter or off the bench).
Would love to have him as our 6th man. But he should only be considered the Legend some of you hype him to be at the local YMCA. He scores so much out of necessity, nobody but him & Nash can score. Bottom line, some people on here talk about him as if he's being compared to an average joe, others are realistic and talk about him as if he's in comparison with and competing against BIG 12 competition....he is a man ( albeit a small one ) and he's playing in a man's league....let's remember that
