Woodard's midrange jumper

Has been a welcome addition to the offense this year. He and Chery from Baylor can knock the bottom out of that elbow pull-up.

Woodard is a big piece. Defenses are already starting to shade toward or try to deny the ball to Cam and Buddy. Woodard is finding himself wide open with the ball in his hands. If he keeps making them, OU is going to be hard to beat.

No doubt about it. Even the MSU game wasn't an easy win for the #1 ranked team at the time. The Spartans tried and failed to run away and hide, but a tough, determined group of kids who hate to lose didn't allow that to happen. That's one of the things I love about this team. They're all winners, and they refuse to give up until the final buzzer sounds. The Seton Hall game was a good example of that.

Woodard hates to lose more than anyone. He showed that in the state finals when he continued to press through a nagging hammy to get the tip in at the buzzer. If Joordan continues to improve, he could go down as one of the best point guards OU has ever had. IMO, he's not far from that now.

He reminds me of a better scoring Rondo.

Not saying he is that good, but kind of their style of play. Both look to pass first, but both are always attacking, and both finish in the paint better than they should given their size.

Besides that, his offensive production has exceeded anything that I expected. Once he can finish at a high percentage on those shots over bigs at the hoop, he will be a force. I am looking forward to that day. For a true freshman at the PG position, Woodard has been excellent for the most part.

I think the mistakes he is making are the ones that come from being a freshman in my opinion. I see improvements every game and I think he is going to be a great player as he gaines experience. I do agree, he needs to get better at making those layups, those will be big when we start Conf. play.

Guys, I have a different perspective. I'm not saying I'm right and you are wrong.

I think he has thrown up some bad shot that don't have much chance of going in. But, often times, those are when he has gotten by his man and has the defenders in a spot where they almost have to foul him. All of those are OK with me.

These new rules fit Woodard very well. I agree with Gary that his driving shots are mainly once he feels he will get fouled.

What I love about him is how long his arms are. The jumper over Caruso showed just how long he is. It makes up for his height.

It's not just his difficulty in finishing at the rim. Buddy, Ryan and Isaiah also miss a lot of these. Probably the most frustrating part of their games for me......especially when it seems like the other team is driving and making theirs.
