Granted 8 TOs and 2 assists are not going to get it done for a Big 12 guard, but some of his turnovers - especially against the press - look to be a lack of execution by some of our bigs. Why did Woodward, who played almost the entire game - have to bring it up against pressure all night?

Why not use Cam or even Spangler to help with the pressure? Also the over-the-top pass seemed to be there all night and when OU did use it, they didn't attack the back end of the press to make LA Tech pay.

Woodward is going to be a great player, but he needs help to break pressure defenses at this point in his career.

Not all of the TOs credited to him were actually his fault.

Re: Woodward's stat line

Was very disappointing to see Spangs not attack when he caught the ball all alone.

I will agree with you about Woodard going to be a good player, but will disagree with you trying to blame his TO's on other team members, he made them himself and they where his. We can set here an evaluate fouls, bad passes, and etc. and generally if someone else did their job, those things wouldn't happen and players would not get fouls or TO's marked against them, but they do. I can go on and on but won't. Jordan is young and will get better and has had some really good games this year, just had a bad nite.

Re: Woodward's stat line

He is a freshman and has played better then a freshman he will have games like this, this year. When Jelon is back it will greatly help.

Re: Woodward's stat line

We should switch Spangler & Clark on the press break. Cam is much better at making the defense pay in those open floor situations.

Re: Woodward's stat line

Amen. He needs to shoot and attack with confidence in the paint!

Taking the shot was a bad decision but I think he compounded it by thinking about it. As I recall he kind of had a little hitch in his movement which to me looked like he started to shoot, thought no and then thought yes I am wide open.

Woodard is still learning and growing. His condition needs to improve. He gets tired late in games. It seems with the injury to ou's depth he has to play mire than he can handle. He is going to be considered one of ou's best ever at his position by the end of his career.

I firmly believe when Jelon gets back into action, he will be able to spell Jordan and you will see Jordan game back to being great. Its amazing to see the difference in some of these guys when they are able to get a breather every now and then. I think Jelon is a big key for us when he gets healthy.

He is supposed to be back saturday

Hornbeak suited up for La, Tech and went thru pre game warmups. He started back practicing this week.

He is participating in all activities including full court scrimmages. He doesn't look to be 100%. But, part of that may be the clunky support shoe he has to wear.

It is expected that he will be able to give us around 10 min. against Texas. He looked pretty good and knocked down a couple of 3's while scrimmaging today.

That is really good news. I was thinking he would be back more like late January or the begging of February.

They didn't have him on the court today for long periods of time. He would rotate in for a few plays and back out. It very well could be 2/3 weeks before this is completely behind him.
