Wooooooooodard!

Bottom line:
Woodard made the first 3 of the game, the last 3, and he was fouled

Cousins had 13 points 6 assists and 2 steals, hardly a bad game. He also moved the ball well, got us in our sets, and took good shots. If you want to get onto him for 4 turnovers go ahead just do the same for Buddy and Spangler.

If he shoots his average for 3, he is at 19 points. If he hits his free throws (or one of them) and shoots his average from 3 he is at 20 points. He had a below average shooting day and put up good numbers with the possible exception of the four turnovers. It was the first game against an athletic team that already played a game. I thought all four returning starters looked good.

Has nothing to do it. SOmebody else said it but this isn't a demotion for woodard. It is trying something to make the team better. You weight the pluses and minuses. I'm sure when we play someone that presses, kruger will put the ball in woodards hands

Are you implying that you can see things that kruger and the coaches can't? really?

And he tried this with a freshman cousins right?

They're not infallible. They obviously don't see spangler instantly turning around and watching the rim on shots instead off squaring up to a guy and blocking them out. So Ya i see some things they don't. No big deal.

I know this team could be special. I hope they can get there

Do you actually believe you notice things the coaches don't see? I find it amazing that any fan would actually believe they know more than the coaches and see things these guys miss. They are highly paid coaches that spend 50+ hours a week on OU basketball. Kruger is paid millions of Dollars to coach this team. He has been paid to coach an NBA team. He has been paid to coach KSU, Illinois, Florida, UNLV and OU. Don't you think it is a tad bit arrogant to believe you have basketball evaluation skills that exceed one of the better coaches in the game and his entire coaching staff?

I don't know what the coaches actually do but I suspect they watch every game multiple times and discuss what they see. I am sure someone is cutting up the film and making clips to show in meetings. I would assume one of the higher up coaches approves the clips and that Coach Kruger has watched all of them before he shows them to his team.

While I DO agree with your logic, and we're talking about basketball, keep in mind, Stoops and company picked Nate Hybl twice over Jason White

I'm sure they see it but it's not getting fixed so.... I'll never know 1/2 of what Kruger knows about basketball. But it's a game.. you really think it's rocket science? Hes just a man just like any of us.

He is just a man that was a Big 8 player of the year. His college playing experience alone gives him far greater knowledge of the game than me He approximate 40 years of coaching experience gives him so much more knowledge of the game I really cannot fathom it

I'm not really on either side of this discussion, but I'll remember this stance the first time another poster on here questions something LK does in a game. I don't see why this subject warrants getting so defensive. Everyone with any knowledge of the game knows this subject is, at the very least, perplexing. The actual game proved that. No one thinks LK is an idiot, just questioning how it benefits this team.

One angle it could benefit the team that isn't being talked about. Let's say this is to get Cousins more looks and a better shot to get to the NBA. While many, including myself, feel we shouldn't put individual achievement over team achievement, him getting to the NBA shows others that he can take a 3 star guy not heavily recruited and get them to the NBA. That helps recruiting down the line. Not saying i agree with this approach or that it is even true, just one theory.

I actually think putting him at the point could be detrimental to him, because scouts will see what we all suspect. Of course, those guys know way more than us, but just another angle. BTW, I also hope this experiment doesn't crush his spirit like it did his freshman year. His scoring and defense are CRITICAL to this team's success.

Boxing out in the Memphis game was really bad.
I hope that improves tonight
