Lot of speculation OU is a going to be in the mix for Clarke, might even visit here.

If he comes here he'll have to sit out this upcoming season, and play the 2012-13 season.

Clarke is of course a dead eye shooter but there is a lot of smoke about his potential attitude issues (ego, needing shots, whatever).

I initially figured when he announced his transfer from Arkansas he would go to a mid major and get to be "the man". Get 20 shots a game and such.

At OU he would become eligible on a roster loaded with upperclassmen. There are already 6 seniors (Arent, Blair, Fitzgerald, Grooms, Osby & Pledger) with four juniors (Clark, M'Baye, Neal and Newell). With an experienced roster like that he would most likely be the 3rd or 4th option (I expect Osby and Clark to be the primary options, Fitz will be up there too) on offense and might not even start (could he unseat an expected three year starter Steven Pledger at the two spot?).

As a three point specialist his value would be great but I really wonder if that is the role he wants to have? Would he buy into it or would he want to get double double shots every night?

One more factor, if Clarke comes then it means OU will only have 2 ships to give out in 2012. So it comes down too that as well, would you rather start bringing in new blood or take the chance on a three point specialist?

Should have signed with OU in the first place. A 3 point specialist would have been nice when we had the Griffins. Arkansas was down anyways.

I say no. The negatives out weigh the potential positives, not worth the risk for 1 year.

Hell yes you take him! He can fall outta bed and make more shots than anybody on this roster. You have to cover for him defensively at times, but he would immediately be our best shooter. You guys can hope Bird makes an open shot, or know Rotnie will!!!!!

We don't need Rotnei Clarke to come in here and interfere with our team chemistry of missing shots.

No. Don't need the me-first attitude and the disinterest in playing defense.

He might've worked out if he'd come to OU in the first place, but he didn't. Good luck to him and all that, but no thanks.

I really don't think Kruger will offer unless he feels certain that Clarke will fit into what he's trying to do here. If Kruger offers, therefore, I'm satisfied that he's convinced that Clarke will be a team player in every way. So if he offers, I'm good with that.

Incidentally, apparently he's going to visit Butler as well. Butler won't make him an offer unless Stevens is satisfied that Clarke will play defense and pass the ball so, if they make him an offer, it's probably the right move for OU to offer as well.

If Kruger offers, as houston says, I'll trust his judgement and have no problem with it, but if it were left to me to decide right now...

If he would be eligible this year, I would say yes. Since it won't be until next year, I say no.

Love his shot making ability, just don't see it being worth two years of scholarship money.

Well, Clarke is an Oklahoma kid. He wanted to come to Oklahoma in the 1st place. But, he didn't want to be on the same team as Willie Warren. Capel picked Warren and Clarke moved on. Now, in retrospect, how can one fault Clarke for not wanting to play with Warren. Clarke is an elite talent. Easily one of the top 5/10 long range bombers in the country. He hung the numbers that he did last seasn when everyone they played knew it and they were trying to guard hm. Before they figured that out, he was apt to hang 50 on them. By the time that long redshirt season is over, he would be well intragrated into whatever role Kruger needed him for. And as a senior, he would almost certainly be able to help the team win better than most any JC transfer or freshman guard. If there is a ship available after the NCAA wrist slapping this summer. Kuger will probably snag him. And I would be all for it.

I agree with the posters above that said if Kruger believes Clarke can fit in, you take him.

Hindsight being what it is, we'd probably have been better off taking Clarke over WW from the beginning.

Didn't Kruger build some of his teams taking transfers. I don't see why he won't take him if Clarke wants to come here. I see Cassie already transferred to St Louis.

Gary hit the nail on the head. Have you guys that don't want him watched any of his games at arky? The whole sec guarded him as soon as he walked in the gym. Those teams whole gameplan was aimed at trying to keep him from beating them. If we have decent talent around him, he will help us win games.

Charlie Manson could have helped us win games also.
