A Baylor fan posted that on HoopScoop. I can understand her being upset about the game but I certainly wouldn't want one of our players to post something like that on Facebook.

But it does illustrate what we talked about when it happened. Apparently, some of the Baylor players didn't take any more responsibility for the outcome of that game than Kim did.

First, it is stupid to post something like this on any social networking page where it can be seen by the world. I don't know if Pope is a good person or a bad person but controlling emotions is something she needs to work on.

Secondly, people in general complain waaaaaay too much about the officials. Refs make mistakes just like we all do. But, officiating is almost never the reason a team wins or loses. Players can play harder. Players can defend better. Players can follow up shots and get second chance opportunities. Players can take better care of the basketball. Players can go harder after rebounds. Coaches can do a better job of managing the game, making adjustments, changing strategy, etc. Games are won and lost by players and coaches (mostly players). When you lose, take responsibility, practice harder for the next game, and always leave it all on the court.

Can't say that I'm surprised coming from Hypocrite U.

I have no problem complaining about officiating in general. Officials should to be held accountable just as coaches and players are. I would agree that officiating is seldom the reason a team loses a game except in the instances where an atrocious call is made very late in a game. Otherwise, most teams can overcome bad officiating. But, just because it's possible for teams to overcome bad officiating doesn't mean fans, coaches and players should be content with the status quo.

Everything in your second paragraph is true and exactly what Baylor didn't do until too late in the game. A truly great coach would have admitted her own failure in preparing her team for that game and made them realize that they took the Louisville game for granted from the tipoff until late in the game.

Hasn't Pope finished her eligibility? I wonder if Baylor has the leverage with her to make her take that Facebook post down? Nice PR for your team, Kim.

I'm friends with Pope on facebook shes normally just trying to promote her music career (she has talent as a Rapper) I think sometimes young people post things with out thinking but if this is how she felt. I think BaylorGalMulkeyFan is the real thug... Pope's facebook is private for a reason so who ever that person is should have shared what she intended for her friends to see only.

I looked for Brooklyn on facebook, and could not find her, so It looks like what you say about her account being private is correct.

Obviously a reflection of the coach's attitude. Seemed like Baylor developed an arrogance and sense of entitlement with their success.

Too bad. Good coach and great players but major lack of maturity.

As someone who likes to lurk at losing team message boards after losses, I 100 percent guarantee that ref complaining is "loser talk."

For the benefit of those who are offended by offensive language, I have taken the liberty of creating a softer version for your eyes:

Brooklyn Pope on Facebook said:
Bless the NCAA, Bless the University of Louisville, the Big East & most importantly the trash butt referees that called our game. That last call what appalling and highly unjust. Sorry dude crushed his leg but bless everything about their success the Big East over and they made sure since they was formed as a basketball conference they would at least end it on top. At that poop is a conspiracy and idgaBLEEP what anyone say in their defense, them trash butt prostitutes blessed us over. So bless every one associated and or like anything about this years NCAA Championships men's or women's

This post is in accordance with the "badger will not bash baylor until football season starts" truce

This in a nutshell!!!

If her page is private, then BaylorGalMulkeyFan shouldn't have copied what she posted. Obviously, Pope needs to 'unfriend', BGMF. The other thing we don't know is exactly when that was posted.

Said what Kim said. No misspelled words. Missed a couple of commas and misued "them." Probably deserving of an A- or B+ in a Baylor English class.

Setting a facebook page to "private" is like setting a university to "private." You aren't going to keep the public out, because it's the Internet after all, you are simply classifying yourself differently from others as a means to try to establish a different standard.

You all are making it very hard to keep my offseason truce.

I saw it some time ago, it was posted on April 8th so she was still upset about the outcome of the game..

The term "thug" is grossly misused. I don't understand how someone throwing around curse words equates to a thug. One can only ask, if the exact same message was written by someone who was white, would she be labeled a "thug"?

The only use of "thug" in this thread, aside from yours, is in reference to the poster who quoted Brooklyn from a private post. We don't know whether that person is black or white, nor do we care. I think you may have projected that term onto Brooklyn

That person was a supposed Baylor fan. I don't know that anyone other than that has called a player a thug.

True character coming out in adversity..... We know that program lacks character overall.
