Young: "I'm going to be playing a little different from now on" | AP

makes me sad that he feels the need to defend himself. I guess thats just par for the course when you get such notoriety - but still sad. You can tell it hurts him. I hope he knows some fans have his back.

19 year kid. Leader of top 12 team has to change.

Said “Fans” aren’t fans.

Toby Rowland is blasting said fans for dogging Trae!

Get to twitter and take a look.

Why would he feel like he needs to play differently? It's his teammates fault, I read so right here on this forum over the weekend.

:facepalm

I suspect Trae is wise enough to listen to what his coaches, teammates, and family say to him instead of what message board gurus like yourself have to say.

I hope we get 2 halves of 2nd half Trae tonight and for the rest of the season. That player is hands down the best in the country. I don't know if anyone has looked up his stats and compared first to second half but I'd almost bet you see a significant difference especially in conference play.

It is interesting though to hear what he thinks. He should never listen to fans but it is clear he agrees with some of the fans and some of the people who are dissecting him on ESPN every night.

Awesome player who knows he needs to get better. Plenty to like about that.

Every player can get better, even NBA legends.

Like I said in the previous thread, from my point of view he has made the sound basketball decision roughly 80% of the time. If he can increase that to 90% then great for him and the Sooners. No one is going to be perfect except for message board posters.

I think it could take another year to learn...

Gain 10 pounds of muscle which would allow him to finish better at the rim when he gets a body blow and he could average 40-50 points/game next year ;)

Re: Young: "I'm going to be playing a little different from now on" | AP

I think he really needs 3 more years to refine his game. In no way is this a selfish post simply because I want him to stay.

Depends on what you mean by right decision but that is way too much film to study for me. Anyway, I don’t care whether he improves or not. He is already awesome. I am just analyzing based on what he said in the article vs what some fans and analysts have said.

Re: Young: "I'm going to be playing a little different from now on" | AP

Trae is more realistic than some of our fans that think 8-12 turnovers a game is OK if you score 25-40 points a game. It is not OK. Because Trae is much better than that. Further his bad misses are essentially more turnovers. In my opinion he is the best player in Sooner history but he can be a better player than he has been in the last few games.

The Big 12 has devised defenses to stop Trea. They have no choice because they will lose if they don't slow him down. Trea has tried to overpower those defenses and 1 vs 5 basketball is tough. All he has to do is get back under control and let the game come to him and take better advantage of the flaws in those overloaded defenses. He has excellent ability to do that.

I am not one of those who are seriously offended with any criticism of Trea. I am in awe of him but he is a freshman. Has some lessons to learn and I am confident he will learn. As with all players I measure his performance against his talent and capabilities. Great players make their teammates better. That is more critical in basketball than any other sport.

Posters were okay with his 12 turnover game against KSU?
