1988 Final Four Banner at the LNC

The following is purely aesthetics:

It chaps me when they re-did the banners at the LNC a couple of years ago that they didn't bother to put the 1988 Final Four logo on the banner. They did a wonderful job, everything looks nice and uniform, but I've been to, and seen on TV, several different places that put the Final Four logo on the banner.

I brought this up because I noticed Saturday while in Baton Rouge that LSU has the logo on all of their FF banners. I'm not going to throw HeismanWatch dollars around, but I think it would be a very sharp and welcome addition to get a banner up there that featured the very cool 1988 logo.

We obviously can't expect to find something like this for 1939 or 1947, but we've got the logo for 2002 on its banner and it looks sharp. The ladies across the way have their logos on theirs as well.

Just a ramble following a euphoric road trip to Red Stick.

That is a slick logo, and one that should be hung in the LNC

I agree 100% and would farther add when I went to Waco and Ames they had banners of their long time announcers. I wouldn't be opposed to a Bob Barry banner hanging up there.

I agree on the banner and Bob Barry Sr. It would be cool to have something in the trophy case about him, like a retired jersey equivalent, if not already done or in the works. He is, to some extent, as much a part of Sooner Basketball history as the players/coaches.

I sat up at the top of the LNC the other night because my dad can no longer do the stairs. You can't see the scoreboard because of all of the gymnastic banners. Gymnastics has their own building. I wanted to see the score!

Should we also take down banners on the north and south side since those too would block views? And the other building is the men's gymnastics building. Women's gymnastics competes in the LNC.

Bob Sr. is a part of Sooner Basketball History? I'm sorry, I disagree 100%. He's no more part of sooner history than Mike Treps, John Brooks, and Al Eschbach. I appreciate Bob's work as the PBP guy for OU athletics but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. :facepalm

That IS the right one. There was a time when there was no logo on it.....just a big red NCAA circle. No more! Not on my watch!
