Does anybody know if we're actively looking at anybody to fill Newell's scholarship for next year?

I don't mean this as an insult, but the more I watch players like Neal, Blair, and Arent, even with the incoming kids we have, the more I think we need to fill Newell's scholarship with a quality player. I'd love to find a guard that can shoot it. A kid like Heskett, Newton, or Neal. Give me some scrawny, dorky kid that can shoot the rock. A JUCO maybe. I think a player like that would really help us next year, even with Hield/Hornbeak coming in.

Right now we just need more players who actually have confidence in their abilities. This team has 3 players who truly have confidence (SP, AF, RO).

I would rather have a kid like, Blaylock, Price or Price.

Personally, I'd rather add a JUCO big - one that could be a solid 5 for when RO/Fitz/M'baye gets in foul trouble. A big that doesn't feel undersized in the post. But that's because I believe that Hield/Hornbeak will bring in that bench scoring we currently lack.

Cole said as of a few weeks ago, he isn't planning on being on scholarship next year.

As for finding a good big, or a kid like Blaylock or Price, those kids aren't available this late in the game. But there are probably some good shooters out there. Those kids can often be found late in the process.

Lets see what happens in late March-early April when kids start transferring out and coaching changes has kids looking for new schools.

I would love to see OU get a Juco kid that is one trick pony if that trick was shooting 23 foot shots
