And after his five officials were scheduled to Hawaii, Oklahoma, Cal, Rhode Island and Dayton—and reported by Adam Zagoria—Jalen Poyser

Scorer, Isaiah cousins type comparison, Candian kid, lot of folks sleeping on him and he's in LK mold.

Isaiah Cousins in the "wish I were a" PG/SG mode, or SG/SF? If the latter, that's damn solid.

Canadian hoops are blowing up and it's unlikely five years from now their best talents will be going to schools who peg them as "sleepers". If LK/Crutch can open a Canadian pipeline to OU, that'll be tremendous.

That seems like an odd final 5, and we are the best program of the 5, but it would be hard to say no to hawaii

More of a pg/SG scorer! 6'4 athlete

I think he plays mostly at the point from what I've read.

Poyser looks good in the highlight video Traveler posted above. I'll post it again so you can watch it. He's #24, the kid who makes a 360 dunk during warms ups look easy.

Keep in mind that was two years ago when he was a freshman. Definitely a recruit to keep an eye on.

Thanks for the heads up, Coach!

You are thinking of the touristy side of Hawaii. As a university, Hawaii is an athletic nightmare. They are severely underfunded, thus their facilities seem ancient, travel is a pain in the ass for the players, and fan support isn't strong.

It's just so isolated

But it's a great recruiting visit!

Not only that, but they do not have Lake Thunderbird.

Traveler... We have 2 ships available? I think we take Manyang, shake and poyser... Someone has to go.... I guess...?

You are allowed 13 scholarship players. We have 12 players on Scholarship right now, which leaves one extra. We have 2 seniors .. TaShawn Thomas and D.J. Bennett. That totals three (3) open scholarships available for 2015, if TaShawn Thomas gets his NCAA waiver and plays this season.

If Buddy "blows-up" this year as a junior and leaves early for the NBA, then there could be four (4) scholarship spots open in the upcoming class.

To many unknowns at this point. It could be 2, 3, or 4.

Two for sure.

Manyang has taken one. Hopefully we nab Shake and Poyser.

If thomas doesnt get eligible... someone has to go.... I see the writing on the Wall on who.

I presume you are talking about Buddy. Certainly, no one in good academic standing will be encouraged to leave the team. The following achievement (see link) is greatly prized by the basketball program and the university, as it should be prized by OU fans.

mentions ou being after him the hardest and hits him up daily..

Nice find, Coach! I really like this kid's skill set and his athleticism. I also like it that he sees himself as a good defender. Even if he's not ready to depend at the college level right now, he wants to be good and that will go a long way in molding him into a really good defensive player someday.

The interview you posted is well worth watching. Jaylen is obviously an articulate young man who seems to have a good head on his shoulders. I'm not sure where he fits into our recruiting plans, or where OU fits in his for that matter. But, judging by everything I have seen and read, I think he would be a great get!
