2018 Recruiting Class

We'll have at least one extra scholarship available next year. I don't think there is any chance there is no attrition after next year. As for what we need, for '18-'19 we should go all in for an impact grad transfer.

Assuming Trae isn't one and done, we will have be an extremely experienced team poised to make a final four run, with a big whole in the middle. Go find a Tashawn Thomas who can be an impact starter from day 1. You can sell playing time and legitimate championship aspirations, so we should be competitive for anyone out there.

Would be awesome to find a grad starter. Prolly a tall order but fingers crossed

I want all these kids to succeed and I've always thought Dante has a chance to be really good but he seems most likely to transfer out to me.

Would love to grab a transfer big like that for next season as well or another wing who's a shooter

Always need a big man. Not going to final four or sweet sixteen without some kind of Big in the middle.:OU-logo:http://ouhoops.com/forum/images/icons/icon8.gif

When will you guys realize the sooners need a big man or two. Mcnease is getting better lattin is regressing, freeman is one day at a time.

I like your choice of Keyshawn Embery. CoachTalk told me two weeks ago OU's coaches have an interest in him, so I checked him out online by watching every video I could find. He's a 6' 3" (6' 4" depending on the web site) combo guard with good handles who is really good at driving the lane and finishing in traffic. He also has a nice touch from the perimeter. I didn't see enough of him on video to know for sure, but I think he could swing to the one if need be. I'll be surprised if his stock doesn't rise his senior season. OU hasn't offered yet, but I think they will if it does.

Then again, with Trae Young on board now, I think our coaches may turn their attention to signing bigger fish nationally than local three and four star recruits. Trae may already have his sights set on some five star players he has rubbed shoulders with in the national AAU tournaments he has participated in. Who wouldn't want to play with a point guard like him?

Keyshawn embry now liked and retweeted my tweet. Excellent sign :)

Embery is more skilled and a better scorer than Hopkins. Hopkins is college physical. Hopkins will look for best offer. Embery's dream school is Kansas. That being said, these kids are pretty savvy and look for the best place for them to succeed. It also helps that Embery's guardian is an OU grad.

Crutch loves him. I I suspect shortly after the first evaluation weekend he will get an offer.

No offer to embry.

Final 5. TU, Nebraska, creighton, Houston and purdue

Is it because they liked Bienemy more, or did KE not give them the time of day? In other words, did OU choose Bienemy over Embery?

That looks like kind of a light offer list if you guys think he's gonna be top 100.

It's still pretty early, most teams are still trying for their #1 targets. If he wanted to wait I think he would get better offers.

looks like he will be transferring schools as well. Joining a "super" team

Embry. My fault!

He may be trying to improve his offer list. I was surprised he doesn't have better offers.

While I like Bieniemy better and agree he is the reason OU didn't offer Embery, I also like what I have seen of Keyshawn on video.

Embery had an average Spring.

All guards what a team. No bigs

Assuming every eligible player on our current roster returns in 2018, we'll have six guards and five bigs (Doolittle, Freeman, Manek, Polla and McNeace). If you add a guard commitment (Bieniemy) in our 2018 class, with the possibility of using the remaining scholarship on another big, that appears to be a good balance of guards and bigs to me.

If my math is correct and Cunningham commits, that would be 7 guards and 6 forwards/posts. That is as balanced as you can get with 13 scholarships
