2018 Recruiting

We lose out to Utah, perhaps. I'm not sure it can get much worse than that. But Sherri probably didn't offer her, right?

Man, what are these coaches doing (or not doing?) to where we lose out to Utah?? I mean i'm sure they have a great campus and a good coach, but we are consistently in the NCAA tournament and are consistently ranked top 25 as well, it's got to come down to the coaches/assistant coaches. I hate to say this but i'm starting to get the feeling that SC is okay with mediocre 20-23 win seasons, just as long as we make the tournament, which is not what we need in a program! I mean, look at all of our other girls teams, they are kicking major butt! I'm a big fan of wbb and just wish we were better. If our 2 tall girls get injured or in foul trouble we may be screwed...

Utah has about 4 or so other foreign players on there team, sometimes it's all about fit, it's possible she felt like she was a better fit for Utah vs OU, we also don't no who could have been on the visit with her, maybe she felt like she had a better chance to make an impact at Utah then she would have at OU...

As I said before, program will stay about the same or take a step backwards. The higher ups don't seem to care so we as fans may as well just carry on. Things may change when we don't make the big dance. I hate to say but that day is coming..

lack of a tough out of conference schedule, and a down big 12 should keep OU in the turney for at lest the next few seasons...

I think it's a stretch to say we don't make the tournament this year, we've got 3 starters back and what I believe to be a scoring machine in Ana, which leaves us with only one question mark for the starting five. I think we place 4th in the league this year, and make the tournament, maybe even win the first game like we have the last 3 seasons. I would love for us to at least make the Sweet Sixteen Maddie's last season, but that all depends on how our new girls develop and how our seniors improve from last season.

The tourney selection committee also has a lot of respect for Sherri, so barring a major collapse, I'd say we're a lock to make the field of 64.

However, our lack of depth will likely prevent us from making a tournament run or finishing in the top 3 in conference.

I see that she is listed as a power forward and shooting guard. She can shoot.

AD Elite
Led by emerging 2018 guards Joanne Allen-Taylor (HOOPER!!) & Britney Oneyeje and flanked by the ultra-athletic and skilled 2018 Monet Jones, and 2019 creative handler Corrina Carter, AD Elite is going to be a headache to play throughout the summer.
ultra-athletic?

It’s benign reported that a 2018 Kid from Texas might become available, Some one said it could be Collier. If so I hope OU can get back in the running for her...

Most likely Texas, if not then Baylor. OU is not in the hunt unless a miracle occurs.

This is per Texas and UConn sources. If Texas gets Collier then Queen Egbo may go to Baylor.

Baylor has a good chance at Scott-Grayson #5 and DeCosta #2. Texas may have to run off a player or two
If their recruiting works out this year. Both UT and Baylor are on the verge of a Top 3 Class.

When are we going to start getting a good chance at Top 10 players to seriously upgrade the WBB program on a national level.? We must do a better job with Texas High School players and stop taking projects.

Another AAU coach from Houston confirmed Collier to Texas. There are still many of the Top 15 players available, but not one of them has mentioned OU as a possibility. We need to do what Texas and Baylor are now doing. Have two assistants going out and focusing 365 on recruiting both Texas and nationwide.

Apparently, she is backing off UConn. She was considering Texas and USC prior to her commitment. Maybe back to Texas. That could get interesting since Prince de-committed at one point. Will she stay if Collier returns? Both Baylor and Texas think they have Egbo.

I don't know that OU was ever in the running for Collier. Maybe Egbo or Prince, primarily from AAU contact. But, I don't know if OU doesn't have who they want from elsewhere.

With the top 2019 post and forwards OU has been in contact with, I think it’s Morris or no one for 2018...
