2019-2020 Schedule News

Yikes, that's a pretty late start for a Tuesday night. I'm a night owl, but 11pm in the east is pushing it, especially if we lose. I'm usually up till 1 or 1:30am, but if the game has just ended (and if it happens that we've lost), I likely will have trouble getting to sleep as I rehash the game in my fevered brain.

sounds like they better not lose!

I can relate. I stay up way too late, but it is hard to fall asleep right after a game. Takes a while for the adrenaline to wear off, and it is brutal trying to sleep right after a loss.

We've played them three times, and we're 0-3.

1996: we lost to their Final Four team in Norman. Abercrombie had 22 rebounds against future NBA "stalwart" Erick Dampier.

1997: lost in OT in Starkville. Kelvin had a bajillion losses like this in the early 90s.

2003: lost 54-45 in New Orleans. We made the Elite 8 that year, but we were just dreadful on offense. I watched every minute of this debacle. One of the worst offensive performances I've ever seen.[/QUOTE]

I believe I was at that game...played at Tulane? in Dec? I was so excited to be able to see them while visiting my brother..

Who else listed to a game we played in Hawaii during Billy's tenure? I started listening and assumed it would be a blowout and I would be able to go to sleep. No such luck!

I emailed Coach Sampson after that game and he (or his secretary, perhaps) wrote back the next morning to express admiration and appreciation that I'd stayed up so late (I think it went till 2 am here in the east).

It was on ESPN2. There’s a Robinson dunk towards the tail end of the game posted on YouTube.
