2019 recruiting

Rbeam,
Shaina having a successful freshman year is probably the best bet for OU staying competitive.
Llanusa having a huge year as the next face of the program like Trae Young is step two.

I agree those two having good years will help, and hopefully the strength of our 2018 class will help as well.

I get the impression from what I have read that she is one that you want. Since we do have so many guards coming in, I wonder if she sees a conflict. Tatum, Taylor, and Jessica are similar in size and style. Are they not?

Is it just me, or on ESPN Hoopgurlz rankings, are several players that are rated around 90 all rated #18 at their position? It looks like Tatum, Murcer and the other girl we picked up were all at one point given the same rating for their position...

We're Yo'Myris Morris last visit on November 3rd. That could be a good sign for us.

Every school recruiting Rokia has known the reclassification was applied for it was just a letter of paperwork. Tenn is in her backyard and offered late- unless Rokia wants to stay at home which is no longer home since she is going to IMG I don't think that relationship is solid. Coale spent the most part of the end of July at U19 primarily to sit in on Rokia- he Shanina was there but that was support Rokia was recruited. If you read everything that espn writes you will be disappointed or really maybe pleasantly surprised once you see the talent he's politically not in on. Anyone who knows ratings game knows he has agendas. But regardless coale has something special she is putting together. Rokia never played a pg for her club team that she played on bit more of a point forward. Yes she's smaller but this kid is uber athletic her ability to find the ball off the rim is amazing. And then pass the ballin the paint is very good. She's an athlete Amanda Thompson type. If you allow an evaluator to tell you where a coach will use a kid you might not have a lot of faith in your coach. Just because you play pg in hs doesn't mean you will in college. The highest level for hs recruits is aau. Look to see who is effective at that level- if you are not a pg for a club team it's hard to think you will be one in the big 12.

Thanks for the report, she definitely sounds like someone that would help OU a lot.... Texas has a lot of top 10 guards on there roster and it hasn’t stopped them from bring more in, you have to have talented players up and down the roster if you want to compete for championships....

Rokie played for the Mali team that beat Puerto Rico in the U19 World Cup.

Had ten rebounds in that game.

MVP of African U16:

I can't find it. But, there was one camp that rated Rokia as the best guard they had seen, as a rising star. I have also seen her listed at 5-10, and indications that she plays a lot taller than she is due to athleticism.

Also gotta love that she’s a lefty...

I wonder if Kennedy Brown, 6-6, Derby, KS won't be one of the top national prospects of 2019. She is highly-rated by HoopGurlz and Prospect Nation. I saw an AAU report that she and Taylor Jones dominated the interior.

Derby is the home of Joanna McFarland (help, Joanna). She follows Tatum Veitenheimer and Taylor Robertson, both of whom will be in the 2018 class. She has visited Oregon State, Arizona State, Texas, and maybe TCU on her own, I think.

Joanna's sisters Jessica and Jackie played BB for KSU and Colorado so they too could be recruiting Brown for their schools as well. I think she also has a younger sister that is playing basketball in college now that could have influence on Brown.

Does anyone know if OU is recruiting Brown, or Taylor Jones?

Doumbia's final five:
Arkansas Sept 8
Vanderbilt Sept 22
Oklahoma Oct 6
TCU Oct 13

USC, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech fighting for the last slot. Pre-med and engineering are interests. Life after basketball is key. She is from Mali.

Prospect Nation/HoopGurlz
NR/#2 Laeticia Amihere 6-3 F King's Way Christian, Milton, Ontario, Can
#13/#23 Taylor Jones 6-3 P Dallas Christian, Forney, Tx
#14/#5 Haley Jones, 6-1 W Santa Cruz Archbishop MItty, CS
#31/#16 Kennedy Brown 6-5 P Derby Senior, KS
Gabby Gregory 6-0 SF/PF Tulsa Holland Hall, OK

This year, we are going for guards. I think these five will receive a lot of attention from OU in the coming year. We know that we are in Amihere's top 14. Brown seems to be following us. Sherri just visited Archbishop Mitty. These are five good prospects. Getting any two would be a good year given what we have this year.

Gregory has offers from UTSA, Wichita State, Florida Atlantic, Belmont, SMU, TCU, Vanderbilt, Michigan, and Oklahoma
