2026 Recruiting Class and Commitments (Bell/Murray/Höllerl signed)

LeeLee Bell’s Minot High School team plays tonight on YouTube….starts at 5:30 for pregame…I think the game starts at 6pm.

We do not need a PG out of the portal. we have Aaliyah and Zya for that position. We need two Bigs and maybe two shooting Guards
Heck we needed that in the offseason but what did we get? Absolutely nothing. Makes me wonder what was going through the staff's head...

Best thing about yesterday was the performance of Stewart. She is coming on and is really going to be good. Not sure what to do or what I would like to see Jennie do, but we have to find a way to play better defense against some of the SEC teams with substantially better athletes. Our defense is broken down off the dribble constantly This is killer because the ability of most kids in the girls game to shoot the 3 is way better than in the boys game.

One thing is for sure, to be competitive against the better teams in the Country, Jennie is going to have convince the girls that "everything matters", every turnover matters, like Smith losing back to back turnovers because she thinks she can dribble the length of the court. Get the ball to a point and run the lane. etc. With our defensive issues, we really will need to limit turnovers.

And, I don't know how we do it, but we need to find a way to get Peyton more involved on offense. We aren't getting her very many 3 point opportunities at or near the 3 point line. Every once in a while, she throw one up from 25-30 feet. Just to get to shoot one I assume.

Maybe we should just give Peyton the ball as a point and let Chavez shoot because right now she's not creating for her teammates and just thinking to shoot every time. But I don't even know that our offense has that much intention I think they just run down the court and look for who has the first open shot... Which makes me think maybe the issue is our coaching?!

This is it! It would work. And not allowing Smith to act as PG at times. She is very athletic, but doesn’t have a left hand, so she loses the ball fast. All of this comes down to wanting a fast shot. Slow it down and play the game. Fundamentals and patience in basketball is beautiful to watch. It’s all there, but needs work putting it together.

I think Peyton is the only one that can do the job. The underclassmen are not capable and unreliable. She has good handles and could probably create for the team more than anyone else is capable of at this point.

Looked at the remaining regular season schedule and at best I see us going 22-7. Optimistic that we can beat a ranked Alabama and Tennessee team, which you just never know right now with how this team is playing. If we can win a game in the SEC tourney and a couple rounds in the NCAA tourney we would have a 25-9 record which is the most optimistic I can be about this team right now.

Yes. Let Verhulst lead and get offense will flow more too and Beers gets more touches. Benefits everyone, including Chavez. She will kill it getting clean shots. I wouldn’t be scared to take a starting spot once or twice to set the time with everybody.

I like the Peyton to point idea as well, at least until we see how it goes. Good idea. Might do Chavez good as well. Anyone on here think Jennie will try it? I doubt it.

Peyton is not good enough dribbling the ball, under pressure she will give up turnover.s She dribbles in an upright position
Taking the ball out of the hands of the most talented player on your team is a bad idea. She's still a freshman, don't forget. And zero chance JB is going to endorse anything that involves slowing down.

Some of yall are forgetting yall are literally talking about a Freshman. Not a Veteran. And Zya isn’t a Upperclassman but she did get playing time last year. She is also new at starting at the D1 level of the game. Yall are talking about 2 young players handling the ball. Good grief people. Relax.

Vann should be primary PG in my opinion. Benefits both Verhulst and Chavez. They can all three get it to Beers.
