5-1

Last year we didn't even have 7-8 quality guys, so yeah, our bench is better. Undeniably so, in my opinion. And as such, we're a better, more talented team.

Is it showing up yet on the court? Not so much (though in some ways, yes). And as I said, I've not seen anyone deny that we're a long way from where we need to be, in game and on the court. But we're a better team than we were last year simply because we don't have just five or six players we can count on to contribute.

Our bench is better b/c we've put our starters on it...Our starting 5 on the other hand, is not better.

B. All I see in that bold statement is B.S. We had more home games...I went to those home games and the only home court advantage was that we were playing at home. The stadium felt empty to me. And to say that we are vastly improved basketball team is statement that is not accurate at the moment.

A home game, regardless of the crowd is easier to win against comparable or better basketball teams. Last years team was so flawed. You are overstating how good they really were. They were awful on the road. This team isn't playing nearly as good as I want them to but they vastly better than what we put out there last season.

By the way, when I evaluate last seasons team, I discount what Newell provided. It is silly to compare these teams but it is beyond ridiculous to compare this team to last year's with Calvin...

A. This isnt the same team as last year...b/c we are starting 2 freshmen, 1 transfer, and playing another freshmen off the bench more than we are playing our returning players.

I don't see how we can't compare this team to last. Its the exact same team, minus Washington and Blair..plus some newcomers.

???

lets go with what you are saying. We won at home b/c we play better at home. Thats the reason for our early success last year. We can disregard that we played the same team(NW St) at home 2 straight years and this year we had to rally to win when we put a 20pt beat down on them last season.

You are right...All signs show that this team is so much better than last years team.

It is simply a matter of not making shots. We press. You need made baskets to press. We shoot better everything looks better. It will come.

Question...what would you do different from what Kruger has done so far? Start Fitz, Cam, and Sam so they will shoot better? Go ahead and say it. Almost anything different would not provide a better starting lineup or provide a solid group of reserves.

How do you know?

Yes, I would keep the same starting lineup...only play M'Baye, Hield and Hornbeak over 10mpg off the bench.

And this is why he is talkin **** on a message board and not coaching in the Big 12
