5,400 tickets still available in Tulsa

Re: 5,4000 tickets still available in Tulsa

You've got one too many zeros there, buddy. Careful, or oSu Jeff will have apoplexy...

I was going to be frugal and not go to the games since I spent more than I had planned in Vegas last weekend, but because of all the fantastic finishes yesterday I had to get two tickets.

So don't worry fellas, its now down to 5,398...

stoops4pres doesn't party in Vegas, he goes for the shows.

We can't help it if some of the schools couldn't sell their allotment.

And some perspective is always worthwhile.

Our ticket sales (13-14K) are right in line with the other locations that basically don't have home teams playing there.

Heck - Charlotte had sold 16K as of yesterday and they have both Duke and UNC playing there.

Tampa had sold about 14K yesterday and they have Florida.

If either OSU or OU were playing here (sigh....) it would have probably sold out.

This...the first weekend sites always have trouble selling out.

Jeff, fair points....but the Tulsa regional does have Kansas.

Understand that... but they still aren't a "home" team in Tulsa.

Again - look at the Charlotte site... they have both Duke and UNC, and they've sold around 16K.

Could you imagine if both OSU and OU were at the BOK this weekend? It would have easily sold out.

I'm sure the attendance in OKC would be awesome in this economy without any Oklahoma teams.

The attendance last year in OKC was not that great.

Good points. OKC and Tulsa sports fans probably just can't afford it right now. On one hand, the OKC sports fans have spent all their money going to Thunder games. Where as the Tulsa sports fans have spent all their money on the WNBA and D-League.

While another OKC v Tulsa debate is great for message board reading, I think the bigger issue is college basketball overall. I read somewhere that attendance overall is down. OKC has come close to, or sold out most of the regionals they had until last year. I think part of the problem (for OKC) was/is the Thunder. The other regions are falling prey to the economy and the overall drop in interest in college basketball in general.

Tulsa people keep spending all their money on new trees for their yard.

NCAA tix >> 2 more trees for your yard

Emig tweet...

Look, Tulsa, you can probably get away with a half-empty arena at the tip of the first game. But 3/4-empty? Not good.

Will never understand the penis envy some OKC people have for Tulsa.

sorry, never even knew Tulsans had penii
