well what a beautiful day in the neighborhood for you huh?

btw - people don't say "gay" anymore unless it is describing sexual orientation.

did you get the memo? I will make sure you get another copy of the memo.

College basketball is a dying sport and the salary OU pays their new coach should reflect this.

In addition, now that the region has been fully exposed to the dramatic quality gap in the level of play between the NBA & college interest will be hit even harder.

geez boca...hand me a fricking gun please

thunder shouldn't have an impact on fans wanting to watch college ball in tulsa.

i blame the pod system. if i lived in tulsa, i'd be more inclined to see a team i can't see very often. like a uconn, duke or unc, instead of a team i can see any time like kansas or texas.

well...the pod system is to make it easier for fans to travel...not to attract the locals

College BBall IS a dying sport, and it will remain that way until the one-and-done rule is abolished. The quality of play is pitiful these days.

Exactly. It needs to go back to 3 years minimum of college before they can be drafted in the NBA.

Sad but true 04. I don't think the 1 and done rule makes it any worse than when guys like Lebron/Kobe/Dirk etc never played. You can't deny guys the ability to make a lving for 3 years booger.

The NBA is just marketed so much better and the product is vastly superior. Doesn't help that the roster of stars in the NBA is stronger than ever. It's pretty hard to go from watching Westbrook to Keiton Page or Carl Blair.

I think it should be 2 things. Allow them to go straight to the NBA if they want too. If a kid thinks he has the game, mentality and desire to go straight to the league, so be it. Have fun playing for the Wizzards. A lot of them will fail, but damnit it is their choice. We can't hold everyone's hand.

IF they go to college, you are not draft eligible until 3 years later. It would improve the quality of both the NBA and college ball.

If either OSU or OU were playing here (sigh....) it would have probably sold out.

Definitely.

I had to leave the Arizona/Memphis game early, but the crowd had a pretty solid capacity. Just to guess, I would say it was 3/4 full. The Texas/Oakland game was drastically less.

And to put it in perspective, when I lived a couple hours from Birmingham back in 2008 I went and watched OU play, and the crowd here blew Birmingham's out of the water.

And all this talk about JP leaving Memphis, he would be in for a rude awakening if he left for OU from a fan base standpoint. Memphis' fans by far had the best roll-out from Texas/Arizona/Oakland thus far. They brought it today.

I was disappointed in Arizona's crowd... As a "basketball" school, I figured they would've brought more fans.

Also I saw Eddie Sutton (not surprised), but was surprised to see Billy Clyde there.

Evening attendance at 14,353. About 2k more than what they announced at the morning session. I'm interested to see what Sunday looks like.

It will be good because KU is there. It would be better if Memphis had won because they brought a decent amount of fans.
