Austin was a warrior throughout his career at OU. Few people know what he went through to stay on the floor. He played hurt for most of it. He never really got to show how good he was until a year or two later while playing overseas.
A.J. was and still is one of my favorite Sooner basketball players of all time. He comes from a great family, too. It's good to see him back in Amarillo. Like nikebasketball said, maybe he can put in a good word for us with some future recruits.
I had no idea he was a noodler, though. I've got to ask his grandfather about that. Maybe he can explain why a young man with a bright future would poke around under logs and into beaver dens, daring a monster catfish with sharp teeth to clamp down on his valuable hands? :facepalm
