His top 4 players are junior college transfers. This guy knows how to get the right junior college talent available and put a Sweet 16 (or better) type of team together with them. 3 of these guys are from OU recruiting ground (Texas and Kansas jucos).

Darius Johnson-Odom (juco transfer): Averaging 16 points a game to lead them in scoring this season.

Jimmy Butler (juco transfer): Averages 16 points and 6 rebounds per game this year.

Jae Crowder (juco transfer): Averages 12 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Dwight Buycks (juco transfer): Averages 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists (leads team) this year.

I have no doubt that he would recruit the RIGHT type of juco talent which has always been fundamental to OU. The guy is doing it right now, this season, at Marquette. No reason why he wouldnt bring that formula to OU.

well, one reason....he won't be coming to OU so the "formula" won't be coming with him.

Go ahead and resign yourself to the fact that Joe C. will be stepping out from behind the curtain with Shaka Zulu next to him and he'll be acting like he's smarter than everyone else.

One think that bothers me about Buzz is that the only quality wins he has this year is against other Big East teams.

And if he is loaded with JUCO's can he recruit high school talent.

Quote of the day: “I like guys that have had to ride on 15-passenger fans. I like guys that when they order, they just use a number. I’d like number two, the combo meal. I like those kind of guys. I think recruiting, as things have evolved, tends to spoil kids. And within the culture that I coach on a daily basis, spoiled kids really struggled with dealing with me.”

That was Williams’ response to a Cleveland regional question about his attraction to JUCO players. Just guessing, but I bet an arena's worth of OU fans fell in love with that answer and the man who gave it.

If OU goes after Buzz and I know he was interested a week ago, he will recruit Texas High Schools.

That is his place to recruit and he will be able to bring Texas high school kids to Norman.

Having seen winter in Dallas, Houston, Milwaukee, and Norman, its really easy to see why high school basketball players from Texas would follow him to Norman when they wouldn't go to Marquette

There seems to be alot of noise around the program indicating that OU wants Buzz. That would lead me to believe that if he doesn't come here, it's because he doesn't want it (or that we simply can't afford him).

I think if Joe C. introduces somebody else, I tend to think it's not because of Joe C. trying to be smarter than everyone, but simply that the guy we wanted wasn't truly available.
