Aaliyah Chavez 2025 Offer

I read in the paper that Loften played limited minutes in Bethany's most recent playoff game and she scored something like 10 points in about that many minutes of play. I believe if she can stay healthy she will be the type player that immediately starts or gets significant minutes her first season in Norman.

I'm not sure what kind of player Stewart is or if she's good enough to see the floor immediately. Her ranking is close to what Caya Smith's was in her respective class and I don't know if that is good enough. Anyone have any highlight footage of her game or insight into what kind of players she will be for us?
 
Would not be surprising if the Double Eagle guys are willing to pay Chavez similarly to what they are paying Canady

 
idk. Man I wish Jennie can pull this off and get Aaliyah but I believe she is a Longhorn. However if Rori returns for Texas (Which I think she is) Idk how that would work out with Aaliyah.. Because Both Rori and Bryanna are both PG’s that will be returning. She’ll probably play the 2 or the 3 if she goes to Texas. If she comes to Oklahoma she’ll be the 1 or the 2 and a immediate starter (I would think) I would think. I think at Texas she’ll start some games and not start some games because Texas does return, a lot of young talent that plays a LOT of minutes for them. Jordan Lee, Justice Carlton, Maddie Booker, NK (long name) and they also get veteran guard Laila Phelia back who ended up red-shirting for Texas. They return a LOT including Texas has the #5 player in the class of 2025 Aaliyah Crump who is Good as well. They will be Good next year for sure.
All I can do is hope and wish Aaliyah Chavez chooses OU over Texas and Texas Tech and SC .🤞🏽🤧
 
Not a fair fight, unfortunately. I don't know if OU truly can find the money for her.

I don’t believe no one is in the running, Its just Texas and thats it. Especially from what all I have seen, everything Ive seen and heard its all leads back to Texas. She follows basically all of Texas Coaching staff and some of their players. Its No secret she is going to Texas IMO. Unless something changes its all Texas and no body else.

Here's the reality...If Aaliyah wants to stay home because she's close to family and the town, she will stay in Lubbock. If she want's the best fit for her basketball experience she will go to OU. If she wants the money, she will go to Texas. Texas and OU are polar opposites on style of play and everyone knows that we fit her playing style and Aaliyah/Jennie have a great relationship. I'm actually a bit surprised that Vic wants to pursue Aaliyah because it seems she would cause his head to explode in frustration because he prefers to have total control of play.

Tech is interesting...because aside from being her hometown, they are an Adidas school and she is a Nike girl. They would have a long ways to go if they want to build a roster for winning.

Chavez, Beers, Verhulst, Williams would be a top 5 team with lots of upside next year and Jennie will add more pieces as well. I also think Lofton will be a sneaky good scorer in the future. It will come down to what she wants the most. Money or Basketball fit.

Thank you. You made me feel a little better about Oklahoma’s chances on Aaliyah. But I’ll tell what stuck out to me..

“No 2, just making sure that they play my playing style,” Chavez Said. “I don’t want to go into a College and they change how I play. I want to be there and play all four years the same way, no matter what.”

There’s only 1 program that truly plays her style and its Oklahoma. Clear as day.

Texas Tech I do not know much about them. I do know Gerlich is on a hot seat at TTU, I thought this year would be her last year but I think they are giving her 1 more year. 1more year to completely change TTU around and she is gone. But even if they got Aaliyah its not enough to change the program around completely in 1 season.

Texas most definitely is not a run and gun offense team. They are very defensive base program with a set play book offense.
 
If Texas wants her, they will get her, if it comes to money. They can money whip TTU into oblivion...

I watched a little bit of a TT game last week. Paint dries faster than their pace of play.
