Ain't no Roosevelt Chapman this time

We looked like the fatigued team in 1984, hopefully tomorrow the shoe will be on the other foot.

Roosevelt Chapman. Now, there's a name OU fans would like to forget. Amazing what a player his size could do!

You have to be old to remember Roosevelt Chapman. Unfortunately I am….. He was a very good player, and put 41 points on OU.

They'll be playing their 6th game in 11 days and tipoff will be just about 41 hours after finishing their win over Providence.

Areas of concern from the ESPN scouting report:

...

How they beat you: The Flyers are at their best when they push the tempo, getting good looks from the outside and spreading the scoring. Their balance makes them a tough defensive assignment and they play with an energy that's tough to match, even with added depth.

...

Good stat: 49.1 free throw rate
The Flyers rank second in the country in this category, meaning they get to the charity stripe a ton. This number suggests that almost half the time Dayton attempts to score, it finds its way to the line. The ability to get there and hit free throws can sometimes be the difference in a tight game in late March.

I'll never forget how mad he made me when reporters asked what he thought of playing against OU's All American Wayman Tisdale and he said "We'll see who the real All American is."

Wayman scored 36. Chapman scored 41 and won the game. I guess he did show us. grrrrrrrrr....

I really want this one for a good friend of mine. He's an OU grad who was stationed (Air Force) near Dayton. When those clowns pulled off that fluky win in '84, he got ragged on something fierce, even in church on that base.

I always thought Billy's teams were a bit snake bit come tourney time - and especially Wayman. Which was the game where he hurt his ankle right before half?

Wasn't Dayton and I don't think it was in 85 so it had to be in 83. Either UAB or Indiana, which we lost. Uwe Blab probably stepped on his foot. Dude wore a size 22 shoe or something ridiculous like that.
