Alex Oriakhi to transfer from UConn

In all seriousness, I actually do expect him to end up at Mizzou (or at least give us strong consideration). He has one year left and should be eligible immediately. He and Pressey played together on the same AAU team, and Oriakhi has said Pressey was his favorite point he's ever played with (including Kemba). His relationship with Pressey and our huge hole at center makes us a perfect fit for him IMO.
 
Go get him Lon. Would give us probably the best frontcourt in the league, depending on what Jones and Miller decide to do at Baylor.



There will be more minutes and less competition for him at Missouri though.
 
Apparently the SEC has a rule against accepting transfers with one year of eligibility, so Oriakhi likely won't end up at Mizzou (we could probably still take him since it's not official until July 1, but doubt we'd do that).

Oh well. Nice idea while it lasted...
 
Wow that would certainly help our frontcourt next year. We would have another senior but who cares because he is better than Andrew.
 
He probably wants to go somewhere a little more assured of making the Dance. I don't think OU will look at him. Not sure he is much better than what we have, and he will probably want a starting job, something we may not be able to offer him if M'Baye starts inside.

He is different than Andrew, but not better. He averaged 6.8 and 4.8 as a junior after three years in the program and is seeing his playing time reduced on a team that didn't do a heck of a lot.

He would be a good player to complement Ro, M'Baye, and Fitz, but he's not a star.

Since when? Ole Miss brought in that Oregon QB for 1 season just a couple years ago...
 
Is this guy another Texan? So many Houston area big men have landed at Connecticut - like Voskuhl, Okafur, Thabeet that it makes you wonder.
 
OSU might take him. I have no inside information to support this but they could use a big guy.
 
have seen he's from the northeast and that he wants to go someplace that will be in the nc hunt next year.
