Amath's performance in last night's game was overshadowed to some extent by two great games from Romero and Steven. But, when a player scores 15 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field (2 of 3 from three), snags 13 rebounds (4 on the offensive end), dishes out 5 assists, and adds a block and a steal, he has done more than enough to earn his own thread.

I honestly didn't realize that he had a double-double until I read the article in this morning's newspaper. Hopefully, that's a sign of things to come this season as well as next year!

Great game, Amath! :clap

Plus he came out of the gate strong; without his scoring, we might have fallen behind in the early going, something definitely to be avoided in road games. I've not gotten to watch the game yet, but I was pleased to see that Amath had a strong game.

You bet. That was really good to see. If he can rebound like that consistently then this team can continue to improve going into next year.

Adding that he had to sit a bunch due to foul trouble it's even more impressive of a performance.

His upside is enormous. I could see him become a really good player in the league. I wonder if he is still considering going to the NBA this year. Man, I hope not. We could really build a team around him next year. His growth this year will just set him up for a huge year next year. Similar to Osby.

As much as we want transfers to come out of the blocks fully developed, you can really see from watching OU basketball over the years that no matter how talented you are, transfers usually take a year at this level to hit their stride (McGee, Osby and, I hope, Mbuye). Probably some other examples I'm not thinking of.

Osby really didn't catch his best stride until the last 6 games or so of last season. M'Baye seems on schedule to do that too.

I'm not trying to diminish Osby at all. He is the primary reason we are where we are right now. His contributin will be long remembered by OU fans. But, M'Baye has the higher ceiling of the two.

Agree, M'Baye could be domimant next year if he continues to work hard and keeps his head straight.
